There are far too many funny threads at this forum already.

Please try at least not to fill up the boards with useless posts which clog up the top of them and prevent serious users from easily finding topics which may help them with something that has to do with making games.

Some user control is necessary to post sensibly with information with some value I know - its not asking a lot.

These boards are not intended to be a debating chamber for comedy acts or general debates on life, but as a serious place for game makers to relate to others on matters relating to gamemaking -however that is not to say some light hearted fun would go amiss from time to time - just please try and keep it proportionate.

Someone please lock this thread.

No, no, no-This could actually be intended and formed into a serious thread. If we post scripts that actually work and do funny things, we might be seeing some pretty nice games soon with funny situations in them. I, for one, would quite like to see this kind of thing.

Kill Me!

No need to applogise as far as I am concerned - I was just speaking in general terms as I do useually not referring to you personally in particular. I'm cool.

Posts generally of the type of which largely do not contribute anything useful to gamemaking - is what I was referring to. We dont need threads filling the board that are - just for a laugh. This is a serious gamemaking forum.

I know I have a strange sense of humour but I find nothing funny either about the fact that you can make an entity invisible.

Tom0001,

Now a thread dedicated to making scripts for Funny Character behaviours is another matter - thats gamemaking and I am sure that such a thread if you could keep it as such would make some valuable contribution here.

Talking of funny games.......

That reminds me - Wheres Lon, gone?

Havn't seen much of him or Pencil Whipped follow up progress around lately.

I realy hate to triple post but.........
I just want to say something about flamers.

They make fun of people when they do something wrong (which has happened to me, i did something wrong and Tom0001 joyfully made fun of me)
Also, they think its funny and then when they get flamed they tell a mod or something.
LOL sorry that was a bit random but i just wanted ahem, flamers, ahem to notice what they are doing

[WARNING] THIS POST COULD CONTAIN POTENTIAL FLAME CONTENT! [/WARNING]
I don't usually flame. So shut up. You have the whole thing about flamers wrong as well. They don't make fun of people because it is joyful. They don't make fun. They tell them what is right and what is wrong. If someone gets flamed it is BECAUSE THEY ARE FLAMEBAIT or have done or said something stupid or annoying. When flamers get flamed they don't report it to a mod. Don't be stupid. And don't triple post.

Tom,
Thanks for putting up the warning label...lol.I don't agree with some flaming but threads like this are an exception...and you are good at it.
While I appreciate a good sense of humor as much as the next forum member "funny" threads like this are a waste of time.
If you want to read something funny read all of the funny and useless posts that came before this one.
I am glad not everyone posts things like this.I could see wading through all of the posts...oh,the hilarity.
Kill Me,I am not flaming you.I am pointing out that most people have better things to do than read threads like this and normally this thread would be considered flamebait as Tom has pointed out.
I applaud the effort at a joke.If you are as bored as has been posted there are a lot of things you could be doing...like making a game.
I hope for your sake that everyone appreciates your sense of humor...and you are wearing flame-proof clothing.

Well done...

Quote: "I don't usually flame"

Thats like saying the US doesn't go to war

Quote: "They don't make fun of people because it is joyful. They don't make fun."

True. They crush their victim's creations, flame them, pass judgement too quickly, have an astonishing narrow vision, don't like it when they get flamed and are usually hypocrites.

Quote: "They tell them what is right and what is wrong."

In who's eyes? A stock media game can be just as exciting as a custom one, yet they still get crushed. The whole view of "what is right and what is wrong" is completely biased and based on a persons POV and so therefore don't follow logic (which doesn't exist anyway because logic depends on POV too).

Quote: "If someone gets flamed it is BECAUSE THEY ARE FLAMEBAIT or have done or said something stupid or annoying."

Flaming is far more annoying than a bad game. Maybe the flamers of this forum should learn to keep an open mind and alot of patience. Its usually their lack of these that makes them so hyprocritical.

Quote: "When flamers get flamed they don't report it to a mod. "

I doubt the mods would do anything...they're afraid to mod this forum because there's so much flaming....

I have another interesting script here.
It has potential for some funny things.

First of all you need to set up a NPC so follow a system of waypoints.
Then before you attach the code 'Follow.fpi' Edit the line:
':waypointstate=5:animate=2,waypointreverse'
And change it to:
:waypointstate=5:setalphafade=0

What this does it make the NPC dissapear as it reaches the final waypoint.

Have fun

Nathan

The first three things you learn about game development.
1. Save early and often
2. Backup everything before you change it.
3. Well...see the pic I posted.

I am sorry, i am new, and don't have the program yet, but is adding in scrips easy, and then after you do it, is it easy to do it, someone explain me the process, and if it sounds easy, i will be getting it in a short amount of time.

@ Rick M,
Yes, putting Scripts into FPSC is easy. When people give you the code you want, or you make it yourself, put it into notepad and save it in the Scriptbank as whatever name you want.fpi
Simple, see?

i really think this forum is a waste of time. how about instead of making a funny script thread. you make a serious script thread and include the scripts you think are funny with some serious ones, and flamming is fun, its fun because people make newbish decisions before thinking it through

You're classifying "flamers" and "gurus" as the same thing.

Flamers will intentionally ruin a thread just to get attention. Theres usually no need for their post as it almost always serves no purpose other than putting down another person/idea.

The gurus, or whatever you want to call them, are the ones that provide actual constuctive critisism. However theyre often confused to be flamers by 10 year olds that cant take any bad comments towards their next award-winning game.
