Geek Culture / Fraps doesnt work

Im trying to use fraps, but it isnt working.
I press the video capture hotkey, and nothing happens.

5/13/06- 570 lines into my 3D game engine! I have completed the 1st version of my file system. Currently working on input and 3d graphic engines.

I think I know what you did. You can't just do it in windows, it has to be an exe, like a game.

I was in an exe.
Yes it was running.

Press and Hold the Key, sometimes it doesn't work. You'll notice it when it does though... harddisk starts going half a dozen a second.

Some keyboards such as mine have "Function lock" buttons... which basiclly lock the F-keys untill you release the function lock. Which is another key...

Sometimes I've started apps and the frame rate counter hasn't shown up, indicating Fraps isn't successfully interogating the app (yes, it is switched on in fraps). Eventually restarting the game/comp/fraps enough times would resolve this.

Also, I dont think Fraps captures openGL games - just directX.

its absolutely fine with OpenGL - at least, fraps will work with recent programs using OpenGL.

There is an alternative to fraps: D3DGear (www.d3dgear.com). It is very nice utility that can do FPS and video recording.
