Darn you Jeku, for mentioning Roger Wilco before I did, when I was opening the thread to bring him up today I miss the old 2d/text games... having to type in "pick up rock" will ALWAYS beat walking over said rock to add it to your inventory... I should start making games like that again, but every study I read says that most, like 99.9%, of the people under 20 years old are lazy buggers and would probably not type in stuff for the sake of playing a game, so the question of a King's Quest or Space Quest style Game, like a Williams' style game, is probably not economically feasible

Not economic, but still fun! I play through SQI-V on average once a year.

That being said, there is an AGI studio out there on the web where people reverse engineered Sierra's Adventure Game Interface from the 80's and 90's . Basically anyone can now create a text-parsed 2D game in a similar vein to Sierra's good old days. Pretty cool if I say so myself

I have Thief 1, and I believe there a few little hacks to get it working on XP. I've had it working on 2k before. I just bought Thief 2 from amazon for $1.25, the cover says XP-Compatible. So I guess newer releases are patched.

I needed to get Thief 2 again to plan the fan missions. There was a huge fan-based project that basically made a whole other thief game. I just cant remember what it was called.

I think the hottest video game character is Ashelin from Jak 2 and 3, not Lara Croft.

Kyle (cant remember last name) from jedi knight series, he always seemed like he had enough real issues to make him belivable. Not "OOOO i have a hot wife what will I ever do... oh how bout kill her." And "OOOO My dad killed my mom, I'm in love with my best friend's gf who just happendes to be my sis, oh and for some reason this old perv wants me to touch his saber." Talk about dysfunctunal family.

Oh, and mario "I'm the weenier"

@CzarTim - Kyle Katarn He was one of my favorites too.

Keen was great for me. There was a time when I would have died for that little man. The earlier keens rocked, but the newer ones sucked.

Favorite enemy? It would haveto be the marine from halflife 1. I loved the uplink demo so much just because of the marines. They were the best ever.

oh, and the bad guys from The wing Commander game, the first one...they were cool...the tiger looking dudes...
