hey don't mind them impreza, I think you are absolutely right. I read your other posts in the dbpro forum and was really inspired since the way the game creators is letting themselves go by giving all these newbies rights to just lock threads and ban paying customers. I work at a hospital and I would never imagine banning a patient from the hospital who payed to be in here just because I didn't like what they said or as you said 'to the tunes'. I have not been with dark basic as long as you but as a new customer I can definately say that I am not impressed by the way tgc is handling business. It's good to see people standing up for what they know is right. too bad that frog guy banned you but it only shows his character. thanks for showing us the light Impreza you will be revered as a hero on these forums from now on, a real william wallace. a martyr.

@Asap,

... but unlike wallace, a complete prat.

I don't know if the DBC updates are on the server somewhere, but a simple request for them would probably have got people offering either the links, or to email the updates to him.

But no, he decided to just make a nuisance of himself by spamming and got banned.

I dunno, he was really earnest and it didn't look like the guy was just spamming either, I had experience with customer service as well and I must say they did take quite a long time to get to my problem, and even then they didn't give me a real answer that fixed my problem. I am not going to complain about it because I don't want to get banned like they did to that poor guy, but Impreza did say everything I would have not had the courage to say if I ever got mad at a company.

The question is why do you need the old versions

that is kind of like asking why do you want an old version of paint shop pro? there must be compatability issues or features favorable in those older versions that he must have wanted. I say we just give the guy what he wants after all he is paying for this stuff like everyone else. thanks for the links hawkeye, I don't get why the frog guy banned him though he was just voicing his opinion. not like he was the first person in the world to be annoyed with customer service. and if that ain't the understatement of the century.

I haven't banned anyone for over two weeks, and I'm sure that neither have most of the other mods. None of us ban because someone disagrees with us, and you won't get a ban for that reason.

Besides, he's only banned for a week. Maybe next time he can talk to us like grown up rather than throwing his rattle out.

Now, lets cover what's happened here. I locked his first cross-post on the DBPro forum. He posted again. Nick locked his second. He posted again, this time getting insulting. So that one got locked, and quite properly, Nick applied a ban.

Note that through all of this, *this* thread has remained unlocked ... but he decided to edit his own post for some reason.

well after reading what he said, it looks like he posted the first post in the dbpro section, and then posted this post afterwards so therefore they should have locked this one right? and then since they said he double posted he edited this one so as not to be a double poster, which seems very honest. I think that maybe some of the moderators have a grudge against this guy. but then again I don't think it was very grown up to go and ban a customer, especially for a week. before even banning him the moderator didn't even offer to help him. I dunno but that makes me feel very uncomfortable being a customer lol, I hope they don't ban me as well; oops I didn't mean to have an opinion moderators!

Allow me to recap:

The DBC thread came first - then a copy appeared in DBP Chat. That got locked by IanM. He got huffy and posted the same thread again in DBP Chat, only with some stuff tacked on the end of it or something. That got locked by Flappy Frog And then he posted a third one flaming teh mod squad (may they rock on forever) in DBP Chat and got himself banned by Flappy Frog.

(Flappy Frog = Nick btw)

Asap - you've got everythign about this forum wrong mate, we're not evil cackily creeps who delight in flaming every poster to come in here. HOWEVER -> there's no reason to tolerate offensive people.

I fully support teh mod squad and all it's faithful members

now one thing I always go by is to listen to those who speak the truth, and you have lied to me hawk, actually looking at the post on here it says the original post time is 13:36 on this thread, whereas the original post time on the dbpro thread is 13:33.. being that what you said above is false.
I don't know, but it seems like everyone is talking about this masked crusader after he leaves the forum. why didn't they even have the decency to let people respond to his thread before locking any of them, I mean they continue to talk to him like he is even there when they locked all the thread's. it's not like he even would care now lol. cattlerustler even unlocked a locked thread just to comment on the guy's words lol. now is it me or does that just seem childish?

I would have thought the question would have been "As paying customers, why don't we get bug fixes" LOL. Serously though what is fixed in older versions that is broken in the new? I don't use it (except for helping people) too often, but DBC 1.13 seems quite stable to me. If there is anything in particular you need to work with 1.13 post it and we'll see what we can get going.

You do realise that this thread is still open right? he made 3 threads on the same subject, we locked 2 of them and left one open. All he needs is 1 thread, why are you getting so uppity about it?

Just realised ... it's the same guy.

@Asap/Impreza/whatever you register as next.
You've got the gall to call CR childish? After creating a new account and trying to pass yourself off as a different person? ... you do realise that mods can post in locked threads right?

Wow! He called himself a 'real william wallace', and a 'martyr'. What a freak. Seriously, who logs on anonymously and praises themself?

Mods can post in locked threads. Have been able to do so for ages now.

I actually replied to his thread (in the dbpro board) just now with download links. I was tempted not to, the post was arseholeish and could have been asked in about 4 words max. Shame really.

I have a few questions.
when does one become a mod, or are they chosen ,or does one apply, or after how many posts, ect.
secondly, In the event that one has a catostrophic hard-drive failure , where may one re-download their electronic version of dbc {the 20meg file one }

The first set were chosen by Rich, the next set were voted in by the users but Rich still had the final say.

You can download your electronic software from the orders page - you can get the from your profile page.

ouch ! I did not use my original ordering email addy
I wonder if I make another account with my original addy if it will show up ? ? ? ? ?

Sorry but we cannot find any orders placed yet. This could be because (1) You have yet to order anything, (2) The order was placed from an email address different to the one you used to register this account or (3) Your order is still being manually processed by the payment service (PayPal / WorldPay / etc)

ok, here is a big prob. as a now non paying customer of my old email address I no longer have access to it and therefore cannot activate a new account using that old email address because I dont have access to the "activation code" email. therefore, had my hard-drive actually failed, I would have not been able to retrive my software without purchasing it again as at the time of purchase the company only accepted non-free email addresses.
I encourage the game creators team to provide a download link to the original 19.6 meg shareware file

I encourage you to contact support so they can transfer your old orders to your new email address (make sure you give them as much information about the old order as possible). We do this all the time for customers who's email accounts die, but you must contact support to get the process started.
