Hello people. This is a w.i.p. for a project im making called War Cry. That is not actually the name, its a temporary one. Its basicly just a tech demo right now,nothing too special. There is physics,dragging if you are close,but the distance for that is set too far. There are two guns and a sword, i didnt create any of these models though. The textures are just bump-mapped ones,well,false bump-mapped textures. The level was taken from the newton physics buoyancy demo because i just wanted a simple test level. The game should be pretty moddable from where i have it right now. The ammo has no affect at this moment,and the swords range is too long.

note* all code but the file parsing and character movement in newton are mine. The character movement was based off of Walaber's fps demo.

To the story and idea:
The War Cry Project was started soon after i played The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion. I was very moved by that game and i got the sudden urge to make a free rome rpg like that(the War Cry engine doesnt have much if any rpg stuff in it).
Story:
You are awoken on a boat at the start of the game.
You are in the sub-deck,being told to get up on deck.
When you get on deck,you see a pirate ship sailing towards you.
The captain of your ship tells you to grab a weapon.
After fighting onto the pirate ship and blending in with them,
they sail to a series of Islands called Crevice.
Crevice is located between two war-ing "countries",
one a monarchy,the other ruled by pirates,
like a mafia type thing. Crevice is the one nuetral place in the whole land.
You then land on Crevice, and are told to unload cargo.
During the period when you are moving the cargo,
an old man tells you to follow him.
He leads you back to his house,
aware you are not part of the pirate crew.
He tells you to hide and lay low for a while.
The pirates told you to meet back after three days.
When the third day comes,
you here them outside.
They set sail in the distance,
but not too far away.
The pirates then unload a hail of cannon fire upon Crevice.
The old man leads you to a boat,
and you two flee to the Monarchy country.
During the flee,
a cannon ball hits your ship.
Your vision fades to white,
and the playable-intro is over.
That is the introduction. Most parts during the introduction will be playable,if not all. You dont have to do what the man says. You can go and re-join the pirates and sail off with them.
Thats my story. And this is the end of my post,for those who have read all the way through.
