Aw, F###. F###, F###, F###!!!!
It seems my awesome computer is being taken away, for one that's almost identicle, but has a lowwer res, and an ATI radeon 7500 rather than a 9600.

The ATI website sasys that the 7500 doesn't suport shaders, which means all my games which require pixle shader will no longer work.
But does this include vertex shaders as well? I have to know, as if it does, then I can kiss my dreams of.. m-making the quality... of dbpro games I've planned for once old school is finished. Don't bother saying I should just replace the graphics card, as it's wired to the mother board...

God, this sucks. I was in a great mood, working on my old school engine when I was told...

sell the 7500 fast and take a small job on weekends to up the cost. then purchase the later card again.

If no-one gives your an answer to a question you have asked, consider:- Is your question clear.- Did you ask nicely.- Are you showing any effort to solve the problem yourself 

I don't know how much they are in the multiverse, but my card is $60 US at Wal-mart and supports all the shaders I use

A graphic card wired to the motherboard should still have slots to upgrade. You just turn off the onboard graphic card in the Bios.

Yeah if you have a computer without graphics card upgrade slot ... burn it. And hide in the corner crying for the shame that is your life. Or get a job and get another MB and Vid card/ a new computer. Life is all about choices.

...All I want to know is if the Radeon 7500 will support Vertex shaders... I guess I was too upset when I posted to make that clear...

What's happening to my current comp. is that's it's being taken in for repairs, so the battery charging can be fixed. The reason I won't be getting it back is becuase "technicaly" I was loaning it from someone, although they said they would probably never ask for it back. Turns out they did. I have plenty of money, but using it to buy a comp. wouldn't be the best of invesments at the moment. The reason that it would be expensive to but a new one of the same model is because it's a mobile worksation, and at the moment would cost $3200 new.

The only real downside to this new comp. is that the graphics card will be far worse. I was pretty pissed off about it when I posted this, but I've calmed down a bit sinse then. I'll be upgrading my desktop into a gaming machine since my laptop won't be be my main comp. anymore, but I've probably do most of my developing on it as long as it can use vertex shaders and runs as fast as my laptop now.
