Saw this link on Retro Remakes site and thought I'd share it with you. It's a new game released last month that involves lots of physics. You basically build a level out of metal sheets, cloth, rope and metal bars to transport a ball from one place to another.

Try the demo;

Thats a nice, fun little game! The various things you could do for physics were pretty nice =) the only problem being the shakiness of cloth, but that didn't affect gameplay at all. Everything seemed more elastic than in real life, but its a fun game nonetheless.

Yep, those levels it shows you when you complete all the demo levels look amazing.

If someone makes a game like this with the physics dll it would be great.

Bwahaha. Check out my crazy solution for the last level. It might've been $3500 over budget, but it's cooler than a penguins tackle.

This is game is so impressive and fun,
Do you think someone is going to attempt doing it with darkphysics and dbpro, that would be fun to see.

@Fallout
That's so cool solution that it made me laugh.

Physics is the lingerie of computer games, so this game does it for me. I might actually buy it considering its only a tenner.

SirFire, you are a genius!

I have tried and tried to make something big and clever like that but failed every time. Looks like those timer thingys are handier than I thought.

I bought it as well mate. For £10, you can't go wrong. I've already made my first lunatic contraption. It takes over a minute to complete, so the vid would be a bit large.

I'm a couple of levels off completing the game. I couldn't figure out guilotine. There's something clever going on there, but I don't get it. Instead I just used some rubber to fire the ball over the guilotine for little casheesh. I'll grab a screenie.

Nope! I switched back to game dev! Must ... leave ... armadillos alone ... must ... work instead.

I'll check out those bonus levels later. Btw, have you checked out the view modes? In the demo you get the zoomed out view and the follow view or something. In the full game you can ride from the viewpoint of your armadillo. hehehe. Funny stuff.

I've still got the demo and with a little perseverence it is quite easy to get those scores.

Solution for level 6 (Void 2) which leaves $152

I might post the other solutions later to help you mere mortals.

what i was wondering about was your 'drop' level score, as the only peice you can place to get a score less than mine is the rope stuff, which isnt usefull, i place one bit of cloth and the ball fell on it which cost me 12$ i dont see how you could have got anything to cost only 10.

[edit] ok you win, i place a metal bar over the rope and it only cost me 10, clever!

I too am up to $748 but looks like we can both do a bit better, although it would be better if you didn't cut up your scores and paste em together like that, makes it look like you are cheating.

since you like filling the page with big images,

i have no idea how you got 66 with level 1 tho, ive been trying for a while and only managed to increace mine to 56, the other levels i basically did your level 6 solution, but optimized them a bit.

I think the AUP prevents me from talking about it in detail, sorry

[EDIT]
It's not how I did it specifically that is against the AUP, but the information could be used for other purposes than game cheating, and I don't want to venture into a "grey area"

yes dont use a anything like a free program called the cheat engine which can preform memory scans on a selected exe aswell as make apps that both hide itself from the exe and can execute your various ram editing needs, or did i say too much?

and spooky, i tried the method i believe you used for level1 where i put a flat grey block down and a rope on the left, but no matter what angle the flat thing is that the ball either rolls off or comes back, i even zoomed into max and set my mouses extra key to set motion to 10% and even moving it by 0.00001deree either over or not, so how the hell did you do it?
