I got a BSOD, then poof, the mouse stopped working.

Running WinXP Pro SP2, Intel 3.2Ghz HT, 512MB ram, some ECS motherboard.

The optical mouse in the PS/2 port is getting power since the light works, but it doesn't respond at all. I tried another mouse in a USB port, and it installed and worked fine. I thought the mouse itself was faulty, so I used my USB->PS/2 converter and tried the USB mouse. Also doesn't work, but it's getting power.

Any way to get this fixed? My brother's gonna hate me (sort of), but I've been getting BSODs on this unreliable piece of crap even when playing games and stuff.

check out device manager and look for a driver for that particular mouse.

If no-one gives your an answer to a question you have asked, consider:- Is your question clear.- Did you ask nicely.- Are you showing any effort to solve the problem yourself 

Maybe your PS2 port fried.

DC emulator code size: 9MB. Compiled: 4MB.
Overall Status: 20% done. CPU: 80% (no floats), RAM: 10%, GFX: 0%
