dunno if this is the right board for this but i want to learn how to model weapons and other stuff like segments and enties etc. so those who are willing to teach me just post.

Not to be glib, but you're not going to learn to model from reading a few paragraphs on an internet forum. It takes a significant investment of time and more importantly, lots of practice.

There are lots of posts regarding affordable modelling programs if you search the forums. Milkshape is a popular one.

try gmax, its having some problems starting but its really good, 100 % free and super cool, go to turbosquid.com to get it and follow the guide of installing it.

sure, but you can't use stuff you make with it in games... unless, of course, they're Gmax enabled.

well im going to use Milkshape ... sorry if i say that alot ... its on 38% finished so it will take the whole night ... well be sure to check my posts when i learn how to model wish me luck ^^

Ok. Im also try to model. I have 3ds max7, where do i get the character studio for the commercial version? Or any one who can show me character modeling without the char Studio, thnx

not to get you in to deep but drop every thing and get photoshop and 3ds max because i moved to 3dsmax from maya and it was hard as **** because the controls are diffrent and there are video/dvd toutirls (bad spelling) to teach and perfect.

Migrating is hard to do
