Not bad, not bad at all.

If you finish in time, I think you could be the winner!

Good luck!

Cheers.

aww that is such a cute entry!
kinda like if kindergarden kids did Wolf3D ... if it plays how it looks this should be a good contender

Hi,
First a big fat thanks for your encouragement. I will make a new site update with lots of new screenshots in the next 48 hours, it will be the last before the end of the contest. The actual version is running at between 35 and 45 frames per second, wich is just perfect for the gameplay. I've change the original controls of Wolf3D to a more modern configuration using both mouse and keyboard. The controls are explain in the in-game Help. My playtester (yes only one) find it play quite well exept that he find that the test level is to tough... Anyway it's a test level.

i'm wondering... is that actually real3D for the rooms?
i mean the effects to make it look like the original are just sweet - i think it certainly does look quite close to the original but that said is really nothing like it, makes no sense i know ... but it does have that air of originality about it.

good luck, can't wait to see what happens over the next week.

Raven: I'm not sure if I will answer your question right but I will surely try =). The real Wolf3D was made with a technic called raycasting to fake de 3D. DarkWolf3D is made in real 3D. The level is loaded and builded using plains to build walls, ground and ceiling tiles. Some 3d objects and rotated plains are added to beefup each levels.

interesting... just looks from some of the shots as if the perspective is off just enough to give the impression of 'raycasting' as it were

It looks very nice. I hope it's playable too, but it looks very great! And very retro too!

The word on the walls should be "Achtung" not "Ashtung".
That means attention.
