This is a really cool feature, and I'm sure most people haven't even realised that you can do this in Windows!

Sorry, watching this just made me laugh...

1) Why were you watching it?
2) Why were you watching it?

That may look like the same question twice, but its such a damn large question I felt it deservered 2 points...

but you only knew it'd make you laugh AFTER you watched it - initially, it doesn't look funny at all. Therefore you must have been researching copy/paste methods...

It's the last sentence he says that made me laugh.

"After a while, you'll be able to cut, copy and paste with one hand, whilst the other hand remains on the mouse!"

Seriously, who EVER needs to use two hands to press ctrl + c?

Now, if you can all leave what I do in my spare time alone, and stop posting my superior videos in an attempt to make fun of them, Id kindly appretiate it.

Someone does need to watch the video, that doesn't happen. The actual deleting doesn't take place until you paste.

Especially as if they don't know how to do this they probably won't be able to find their way to Google Videos.

I hate the view that the south is a tchnological wasteland! Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, Cape Canaveral, all southern cities rich with tech. Even georgia has technology. I just realised-you have to copy and paste the link into your address bar to watch the video. Is that some kind of sick joke!?

I've had similar experiences. On my work experience, the IT person didn't know how to save a file to floppy disk (well, his method was an extremely long and complex one that took about 5 minutes), and someone else didn't know how to create a new folder.

It's not a joke, it's obviously one of a series of videos intended for people new to computers, I'm sure most people weren't aware of copy/pasting when they first used a computer. Also, I'm betting Google Video wasn't the original distribution method for this clip.

I don't. Managers are basically stupid stupid people, who either met their bosses on the golf course or happen to know a certain secret handshake and wear horns on their head every third saturday. Plus they probably got qualified in the dark ages. One of our old managers claimed that a totally IT illiterate person was better as a manager of IT (eg. programmers, support, whatever). Guy then proceeded to do the easiest job in the world (Y2K rollout schedule manager) after we did all the hard bits (and support then did the 2nd hardest rolling it all out to the clients). Basically he played Lemmings all f**king afternoon. God he was a ****. Must... control... fist... of... death...

My current manager takes enormous amounts of time talking about his kids to us before then turning around (2 minutes after talking to you for 3 hours straight) and asking if the 2 week job he gave you 3.5 hours ago was finished. And then asking if you could work this weekend to honour some stupid as **** commitment he made to a client without checking with you if it was physically possible. Funny to then inform him you will be in Hawaii for the next 3 weeks, which he obviously totally forgot and hadn't scheduled for.

God, must stop talking about work. Will kill me by 40 with this much anger I tell you

Cheers

Bosses. Plural. Only ever had a couple who I really thought were decent. And only one I would say was a better programmer (at the time ) analyst. Apart from that I could do their jobs standing on my head.

And don't get me started about way overpriced project managers. I mean I've heard most project managers are proper project managers. ie. they could do (and have done) your job easily, design just about every part of the project, pretty much sort out every part of the project from A-Z, and totally deal/work with the client. As a programmer all you see is the PM perhaps double checking something on the design with you, and then basically giving some advice, seeing hows it going etc. Not with me. The client contacts me (or I give them an idea when talking to them). I talk to the client. I design everything. I quote everything. I program everything. I deliver everything. I write all release documentation and do all my own test plans etc. The PM basically takes the quote to the client. He comes back if they agree. The PM takes back the spec. He comes back if they agree. I tell the PM the job has started. The PM asks if I can work on the weekend (while the PM is in the pub). The PM tells the client it's done. The PM *doesn't* even sort out the billing. The PM then picks up a bonus of £500 if the job is worth more than £5000 (not hard where I work). I get paid pretty well, but a typical PM can earn around £80k (not inc bonuses) in our company. Only contracters can get that for programming. Someone basically forgot to tell our bosses that our PMs are actually account managers. And ****s (although compared to Sales they are golden). S**t I got started.... Oh, and none of our PMs are even slightly qualified in IT. Love it.

Cheers
