ok, so I am making a Counter-Strike 1.6 server out of an old computer of mine

Specs are:
Athlon xp 3000+ @ 2.4Ghz
512MB RAM
nforce 2 Abit NF7 Mobo
Radeon 9600SE @ 420/240
2.5GB Hard drive

lol i kno 2.5 is really low but it is the only spair I have right now and I know that there are some linux distros that only need less the 1GB but I need help on which one to use. I played around with gentoo on a better comp but only using LiveCD because I am stupid. Also I have used Red Hat 7 on an old comp too but I could never get my internet to work (lol but the internet didnt work with windows even with a working internet card).

So I need help on which distro of linux would be good for CS 1.6 and uses the lease HD space.

Please help quickly...

With Love,
Wheezy Baby

You mean unexperienced.

I would say ubuntu - server edition if you're ok with command line, if not, apt-get fluxbox - or fedora in which you can select in install what packages to install (server option takes quite a little space), they should work with almost any card as far as I have read and you could configure them easily.

If you get it running, will you invite us to join one round

Well right now I am using DMS, Damn Small Linux because of the fact that I can use it using RAM my 1GB flash drive which pwns. I am using the version that runs inside windows to test it out. So far its good enough for now. Anyone have any experience with it?

Btw, I have a temp server up but its up and down often for work
