A good quality game that's fun to play, and lasts for a couple of hours.

That you've made yourself or with your team, obviously.

Okay, okay...

I know that Nuclear Glory's website used to have a developers section where you could sell stuff to others. I can't really remember how it worked though... You can also sell games and other software stuff through various other sites on the net, I think shareit.com is a nice place. I haven't really sold anything myself yet, neither have I made anything that has been of commercial quality...

Drew might be able to give you a heads up on this. Personally I think if you've made something good enough you should approach a few publishers - companies that can take your game, do all the legal work and put it on the shelves/cyber shelves for you. Just make sure you get a decent cut.

If all else fails try getting a site on a place like free webs and make a papal shop on there or find a indipendent store and ask them if they will sell it. i suggest giving a store like 10% of the profit. but thats just me i hope this helps

Ive doen a substantial amount of research into this, and for the U.S., youll need to first check with your local city gov offices for any forms you need to register your company on the city level, then move onto state level, and then federal. If you plan on selling the games yourself, youll need a federal tax id. go to [href]Business.gov[/href] it has everything youll need.

Snow Wars is making its return, check out the Game Design Theory board for more info...

if it's worth while, submit a buisness proposal to TGC or head over to Garage Games, they will publish games for you with a decent amount of exposure and commission. They won't force you to sell with them exclusively though.
