I just read blobzone's Scifi mega pack post and something became pretty evident to me. People who cant model don't understand how hard it is.
I am not claiming to be a modeller by any means. In all honesty mine are crappy, but I'm learning anyway because then I can get exactly what I want. But it's difficult and life-consuming.
So to all those people who post askin for someone to make them
"a flaming broadsword, animated and FPSC ready, with sound, if thats possible, please, it'd be appreciated",
I say:
"dont press that Post button!!". Take 30 seconds to read some of the other requests for free stuff posts, and you'll realise what a flame fest your post will be. People such as Keith, Higgins, Jon F, Bond1 and Dimoxinil, will be only to happy to help you, if you can show that you're helping yourself!
At the end of the day, this is an adult community, and people have work and families, and it's unlikely they'll take 3 hours out of their (sparse) free time to make something for you that they will never need themselves. Especially not for free.
So, what can you do? Well, get pro-active. Download a free modelling program, read some tutorials and learn the skills yourself. Your first results will suck (like mine) but wouldn't you rather eventually be self sufficient, than have to rely on others?!
"Guns for show, knives for a pro."
