What would be the first step in creating a level for my game? I'm shooting for a isometric view, diablo/fallout style of graphics.

the first step is sketching your map on a paper..........

after depend if your game is in 3d or 2d ( becose iso is not auto 3d )

use a program like WC or make your map with a 3d editor

for the view, play with the camera setting inside your game

If Zeddex can, you can. If you have an idea, make it.

get a copy of DeleD LITE (download from http://www.delgine.com)to create your map, easy to use and very useful and convert your map to DBO format, you can get a free plugin for DeleD from http://www.ilbuzzo.net/downloads/DBOexporter.zip

tis good stuff!
