I'm confused on the RetroRemake compo. I'm not sure what all are 8-bit games. Like are all NES and Atari games 8-bit? Or what systems are 8-Bit, any help would be appreciated?

If you don't know what an 8-bit game is, how would you even start remaking one? 8-bit refers to the hardware it ran on, i.e. an 8-bit computer or console, like the Commodore 64, NES, Spectrum, etc. If you've never even played on one of those don't try remaking one of their games, pick something you do know.

Dude, Google is your friend. I typed 'what are 8 bit games' and got loads of references.

And yes, the NES games are all 8-bit.

Plus i did play some retro games on the NES, but since it died, plan b, playing roms of games that I do own.

If you need help choosing which consoles to make game from because you don't know if they're 8-bit or 16-bit, here's a list of consoles, sorted by type:

I think they're wrong about Game Gear--- I *believe* that was an 8-bit system, as the Atari Lynx and Turbo Express were the most advanced handhelds at the time (16-bit).

I wouldn't advise putting either a PSP or DS anywhere near water.

It's perfectly ok to use either a PSP or a DS in distilled water.

The Lynx was really powerfull, more so than the Game Gear and the Gameboy, I mean it could sprite rotate, had a better blitter than the amiga, really it was like the Jaguar, it's only problem being Atari's marketing.

I liked the Game Gear, Lemmings, Sonic, hack even that Mickey Mouse game rocked, the games are still being sold, mostly because I think it's a really comfortable handheld to use. Modern handhelds seem to be designed for people with half-thumbs, the original XBox controller is more suitable for me! - I can't imagine using a GBA micro, I'd probably end up swallowing it.

I struggle with the DS, the buttons at the back are not designed for users with standard wrist joints. Maybe I should design a new joint to attch my hands to in Dark Physics

They should make an adaptor for SNES controllers to save our aching wrists. It depends on the game, but I know what you mean - like my hands are too wide to use my thumb on the Dpad whilst using the left trigger - a clip on handle on the left hand side would be a good accesory, so you would hold it like a PSX controller, maybe even add extensions to those shoulder triggers. There might be stuff like this already, I should look into it.

I still have my gameboy along with about half a dozen games. I remember getting a MacDonald's co-branded game once
