Is there a way to convert DB code to C code and then convert C code into gameboy code? I've really wanted to make a gameboy game for a LONG time !

I know that you can compile a c++ source to gameboy code. Did it myself once or twice, but I thin it isn't possible to convert a DB source to C++. So I guess, you have to learn c. sorry

yes there is a way... as there always is.
however it hasn't been invented yet

however personally i'd think it'd make more sense if someone made a
DarkBasic -> Gameboy Assembly - as this would be a much more efficient route as C isn't a Linear language and requires alot of threading - whereas DB and Assembly as identical in the fact they run along a Linear set route

and to be honest this wouldn't be a grandly difficult task to achieve, it just requires alot of time and patience - and you wouldn't be able to use the 3D Code (unless the programmer was someone amazing!)
However i'm sure it'd make more sense even still if someone made a simple Gameboy Basic as it were

would be an interesting project to look into

I'm an age11programmer. I've wanted to make GameBoy games myself for my brother. Tried to make my one GameBoy emulator (that doesn't emulate, it uses a language of it's own). Fell asleep making the pictures.

I want to make a GameBoy Advance game too. But I'm a VB programmer. C's too hard. I could make a VB pretty printer program while the C programmer was still declaring the variables

I go with the idea of a straightforward Darkbasic > Gameboy command. But what about the 3D engine? I don't think you can use Direct3D (or even slow GDI32) on a GameBoy advance. Not enough processing power for one thing. And don't the cartridges have a really small size?

I am also an age eleven programmer

I've always wanted to make MegaDrive games (SONIC RULES). Even though I've been programming since I was about 7 I still haven't learnt C. Too Hard, stick with BASIC.

There is this thing called NO$GMB which is a good MS-DOS gameboy emulator. I've been using this a lot lately since i'm running WINDOWS 3.1!!!

It has an assembler function. I don't know the web address but I'll find it soon enough!!!

Perhaps a DB to Gameboy command is a little impractical.

However, I do know that the Dreamcast and XBox have similar architecture to a PC and, I don't know about XBox, but the DC is based around a Windows/DirectX operating system anyway. If you've got the C coding, it's apparently not that hard to convert PC games to these consoles. Shame I don't know C++ or have the DB source code, otherwise I'd have a go at making a DC compatible DB!
