Why cant the admin or mods delete annoying threads instead of just locking them. It would help to keep the forums clean and tidy. Or better still archive them

im sorry for the spamming i used to do i hope u can all find it in your harts to forgive me

I think I hold the record the the longest living deleted thread...

Because it's really entertaining reading locked threads? Or is that just me?

Threads are often locked because of excessive conflict. Humans are interested by the conflict of other humans. Therefore, you are just following human nature.

I personally don't feel we should censor every single bad thread. Once it's locked it sinks to the bottom pretty quickly. And it serves as a warning to others.

If you just delete a thread people aren't going to realise they've done something wrong. They'll just post another thread saying, "That other thread seems to have disappeared, so lets continue the discussion on where to get warez here."

soapy - exactly! We can (and often do) delete threads, but it's often better to lock them with a reason.

commodore... just as a word of advice... make sure your password isn't 'cccc' (i think) or commodore. Infact make passwords like 4jV*qpY!YErteS68Pc%7Y or 7ZBC%Lsg@bL6pQ&TvnGJ4 or *EhrTThX*ze9vT5$085iK. Granted it is only 21 chars long, but it is a better level of protection.

I can live with that idea, its fun to laugh at your own stupidity sometimes, and think 'man I was such an idiot' (I have my own few locked ones to laugh at)
