Hi

Is anybody taking exams right now?

I'm taking A level maths, AS Chem andd AS Physics.

Had C1 and C2 resits today. Didn't really need them (got 93 and 89) but I'd like to get as close to 100 as possible to leave wiggle room in the later Further Pure modules.

Got Chem 1,2,3 tomorrow, Core 3 on Thursday and Physics all of Friday. Anybody else doing those subjects or having any exams at all?

Finished my college course today - only 2 exams, and countless coursework assignments.

Possibly at uni in september... not saying which course as its not something brag about...

Good luck with those!

Thanks, should be okay. 3 1 hour exams are better than 1 3 hour.

Had Mechanics (M1) exam today as part of my A2 course. It was thankfully one of the easiest exams I've ever done. Unfortunately, I have a feeling C3 and C4 aren't going to be quite so easy...

All my exams are really spaced out though, so plenty of revision time. I'm doing Maths (not further), Chemistry and Biology.

Blimey! I got 91 and 64 and I was ecstatic!

Do you do Decision (biggest waste of time ever)? I did it last year, but my teacher refused to teach us simplex, even though it always comes up (he couldn't do it). It was 20% of the paper last year!

Good luck with those. I really hope you're not on Edexel for maths. My C3 is on Monday. (I hope)

Yup, I'm taking my AS's as well, I've only got one exam left (on thursday) and then its over until next year, so far I've done my Psychology, English Language and English Literture exams, I only have Ethics/Philosophy left, which will last three hours from 1:30 on thursday. They're not too bad of exams, Psychology was a pain with research methods, however luckily we got easier questions on it rather than in the mock, English literature was quite suprising as I could remember all of the quotes I needed for our 'close text exam' on Jane Austen's Emma (Terrible book, very dry, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone)

Nope - OCR. I've got D1 and C4 on Monday. Descrete (decision) is weird - I like it as a concept, but in real life, it's not an exam subject. Bubble sort this list of 5 numbers all below 10? 8 marks? Hardly compares to integration by parts, 8 marks.

Chem was fine. Not blisteringly easy but not that hard either, just reciting stuff.

C2 before the half term, pretty good
M1 yesterday, did really well!

Geography:

About 90% in the coursework and the two exams went really well

I'm just finishing my first year at uni (Civil Engineering)

Done 4 exams: Maths, Fluids, Structures and Materials
2 more to go: Mechanics and Geotech (Tommorow and the day after)

My exams so far have been 'good' but not 'amazing'...however these last two are the easiest (only two hours each, too), hopefully will boost my score. Courrsework counts for 40% of my final grade and I've been doing well with that, so fingers crossed for a good grade!

Good luck with all your exams!

Robin

Hey.

Ive got my last bout of A2 exams coming up next week;

Psychology and computing.

Photography was all coursework based so thats all dusted.

Need 200 UCAS points for Software development: Games course in Sheffield, and I already have 160 from AS, so easy riding.

Still, would be nice to have some high A levels for future employees and whatnot.

Ah yes, AQA? I knew a few historians who had one this afternoon. Nazis and Pitt or something.

Just wondering, are most people currently taking a levels looking to go into computing degrees of one sort or another?

Not me. I'm not even doing computing A-level, which is a good thing because the teacher doesn't actually teach, and has a reputation for loosing coursework. In the As', out of 10 people, there were 4 E's and 5 U's.

I'm hoping to do Biochemistry at Sussex.

I'm the same - I didn't do computing A level (or even ICT gcse come to that). I'm currently studying civil engineering at imperial college...programming is just my hobby really

@David
Have you got an offer from Cambridge? If so...congrats! I tried for engineering at cambridge - got an interview but then got turned down a while later.

It's called Further Maths

I did C1, C2, S1, M1 in January

C3, C4, M2, D1 right now

next year: FP1, FP2, M3, M4, S2, D2.

@Robin: That's the same amount as me. My college doesn't offer further maths (luckily-I'd have died of brain-mushiness by now). I do C1, C2, C3, C4, D1, M1.

David T, how can you do so much in 4 months?! It's just not possible!

Further Maths counts as two subjects, so I get 16 periods a week (As opposed to 8 for 1 subject).

Well, it's still alot for 4 and a half months. I really hope you can still do as well when it gets harder - I'm struggling with C3&4! Hence the biochemistry choice (plus I have a natural love for science- it's way better than maths).

I can't wait untill my exams are over though, so I can work (ok, fine- start) on my game for three months uninterrupted.

i just had my last 4 exams at school a couple of weeks ago. chemistry, maths, physics and computing. i live in scotland though so i was doing advanced highers (like second year of A levels i think? ) my last exam was chemistry, typical of me to get ill that day and be sick, why couldn't the virus wait an extra 3 hours until after the exam instead of during

all over now though but working now

edit: going to study physics with computer science next year at edinburgh uni for whoever asked about computing degrees

If no-one gives your an answer to a question you have asked, consider:- Is your question clear.- Did you ask nicely.- Are you showing any effort to solve the problem yourself 

I just finished off my AS' with phys modules 1-3 nice n easy

However i was ubar sick beofre my mech exam so i missed than one and it screwed me up for chem 1 n 2

edit: i considered taking further maths, and i think i would have done quite well in it, BUT in the summer I got really ill (glandular fever) n it basically kicked the crap out of my immune system, I had to drop 2 AS' (Bio, and crit, but crit doesn't count) to enable me to catch up with work on time for the exams

Hopefully, with a very high mark in my OU course n reasonably high marks in AS, and the normal 3 A2s (thats next year), i'll get into a decent uni

I've just finished my first year at Uni, studying Software Engineering, though really just a get around for mandatory introductory subjects, like Problem Solving, PC Internals and Prog. Design & Impolementation etc.

'Was really good and I thouroughly enjoyed most of it. The work load did got more intense given the nature of the course as the finals approached, but nevetheless hard work prevailed in the form of several 2:1's and a 1st for my PDI C++ assignment

Can't wait for next year to begin!

Ugh...just had C3. I think I did ok, but differenting 3(sin cubed x) was nasty. I failed that one miserably. I reckon I got a B though. If I'm lucky.

I've no idea. It was the last question, and you had to prove that the differential of that plus something else was sin2x or something. It wasn't very nice, and my mind went blank long before then

C4 on Thursday though. That's the scary one. It's almost completely integration. *shudders*
