Can an HUD be toggleable and not activated till you pick up an item?
The general idea I'm going for is I want the player to pick up a map, have it show on screen and stay there till the player presses F1. But I want it so that they can press F1 and have the map show up again. Is this possible at all? Please keep in mind that I know nothing about scripting. Thanks.

Its possible to bind new key´s to fpsc but you have to write the number coordinations and i think you have to make new commands in DBPro that supports that key. Like "f1pressed=x".

Yes, just have the item do a
:state=0,plrdistwithin=150:state=2,coloff,setalphafade=0
:state=2:followplr
:state=2,plrusingaction=1:state=3,hudshow=map
:state=3:followplr
:state=3,plrusingaction=1:state=2,hudhide=map

still need to add image stuff (look for NPC Talk Script)

Its a script, and according to merranvo you are going to attach it to a entity (your map) but i dont know how to make the player shown on the map.

@Antimatter games -Thanks. The player's position showing up on the map isn't important to me. LOL, I mean realisticly when you look at a map there isn't a redicule showing where you are... unless you carry an onstar system or something of the sort on you, lol.

Lol, youre right. I guess i have played too much of todays games. Anyway, you can show a picture of the map instead.

This code shows your map when youre pushing the usekey and when you release it it fades away.

I have not tested it but i think it is going to work. Tell me if it does.

Thanks I'll givem both a go. Id'e need a few and only active after the player found the map though for each level. That's why I mentioned the F1 key. This should work for now. Thanks much.
