2900??? Do you absolutely have to have a laptop? There are some sites where you can order computers with poopy little cases and no peripherals (just use any speakers, keyboards, mice, and monitors you've got lying around the house), just the motherboard and hard drives. Sometimes its cheaper to get the video card separate. My friend knocked 300 bucks off his computer doing this.

$350 upgrade for 2gb of ram? $200 you could buy it yourself.

Nice laptop I guess, cpu seems a bit low in my opinion. I wouldn't pay $2k for it. And why would you need 2 graphics cards in a laptop? You gonna play games on it?

If I want to code and game on the go, then yes....But you know I only want the 2 gfx cards for games like oblivion. I know I know "But thats going to rip your battery a new one" thats why I want it, so when Im up at my Grammys house (in the middle of no where) or visiting other family I can still have a little fun. But also not rip my battery a new one, wall plugin's its ingenious.

buy a desktop. They are cheaper, and it isn't that hard to connect it up to a tv.

I understand that you are looking to defeat the purpose of a laptop. Desktops are extreamly portable. Put it in your car, go where you want, plug it in. Simple.

Desktop Replacement Laptops are also 'portable' stay out-of-sight of a wall for around 1.5-2 hours and you have a very expensive paperweight. UNLESS you have one that controls the processor speed dynamically (i think AMD does that) as well as disable hardware that you aren't using... you might get a good 6 hours out of it... still better to buy a stable laptop.

Yes I know what you mean. But I don't plan on having it unplugged that often except for when im on those long 5 or 6 hour drives to familys houses, my wife dosnt approve of me getting a laptop thats 2900$ or so. But I broke her on that....

Why would I drag my 25 pound desktop (the monitor is like 5 pounds CRT) everywhere I went that....would just look weird. Not to mention a hassel.

But I do see where your coming from.
