I know that will seem as a dumb, noob question of me, but, I must know, can we do it on 3D or absolutely in 2D? I ask this, because sometime I read bad english, so, answer me quick please! thanks in advance.

Either.

Like because the games will largely be 2D anyway, and really if we wanted to play old games, we'd use an emulator.

The idea behind the competition is to remake an old 2D game, in 2D, or in 3D - the important factor is to improve on the original somehow. Making a 3D version of a 2D game tends to be the way it goes with these competitions.

Remember though, that 3D graphics do not automatically mean 3D gameplay, it's just that 3D is a good way to expand on visuals, the game logics could all be regarded as 2D most of the time.

For example, I made a Jetpac remake a while ago, and used 3D models and levels and stuff, but it was still good old 2D Jetpac at heart.

I am redoing a 2D speccy game called Bounder and doing it all in 3D - like Van B says the idea of the compo is to update everything, not duplicate exactly, that's what emulators are for. That is specifically mentioned in the rules.

Also TGC are just a sponsor of the compo, for the full rules and dedicated compo forum where you can ask all these questions, got the the Retro Remakes site.

Ok thanks for both answer! Now that I know that I can do it in 3D, I'll do it, because I'm awfull in 2D. Thanks again.
