just a question, are you making ALL your own weapons, or are you going to be using some of FPSC's aswell. Can't wait for more screenies!!!!!!

Windows XP Home Edition,Phoenix - AwardBIOS v6,AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3200+, MMX, 3DNow, ~2.0GHz,1024MB RAM,2 NVIDIA GeForce 6600 256MB graphics cards, SLI motherboard,5.1 soundcard.

Making all my own weapons; I don't want inconsistancies inthe hands/no hands department. Plus any weapon you find in this game will not be in the best of shape so everything has to be custom. Some weapons will be just item found that can be used. in fact the only gun in the game is a .17mm , 7 shot taurus tracker revolver. Already got it in game for the first level but I don't want the player to depend on it in the traditional sense. Ammo will be extremely scarce and at most times hidden or neigh inaccessable. Only the most observant of gamers will be able to retrieve everything. SOmetimes shortcuts will be available, but the usually the loger and more difficult routes may prove more rewarding. More screenies are coming soon. The demo will be the first "Level"; it is divided in to 3 parts as not to have atrocious load times. Part 1 is almost complete. The levels are built, I just have to dress the sets and create a few more entities. Once this entity I'm working on is done , just a few pieces of video and sound work and I'll be releaseng the demo. But screenies before that.

Here is a possible pic of one of the loading screens and a new entity you come across from time to time. I do need opinions to make a decision.-Is the health counter guy too goofy and/or big to include in the hud? Should I use a different thing all together? Does it detract too much from the horror? I want this game to look as professional as possible and don't want to have a risk of laughter even remotely being evoked, ruining the mood. Thanks!

I think the counter guy should go just chest up, like you said. He doesn't look goofy at all, he looks perfectly real.

Give a man some bullets, and he'll want a gun. Give a man a gun and he'll be giving away the bullets!!

@Lizblizz- mine isn't an enemy, its more of a set dressing. So if you had one for an enemy it's cool.

@Maeko - Yeah it kinda started ruining the atmosphere for me , so I changed it completely useing some industrial hatch and a skull. The look fits waaaay better now.

EDIT-Well I'm going to be working on level design, creaturedesign, storyline and plot twist while on Holiday for a week. So when I get back, give me a few days and a hopefully pretty sweet demo will be ready for you guys to check out. Untill then Cheers guys!

This is really good, those characters that are wearing those, like bondage suits are really creepy, man I'd hate to run into one of those (for more reasons than one).
I praise your moddeling, and your idea of creepiness (it is creepy).
I think it goes witout saying, this game makes my The Undead look like pong. Very well done indeed.

Greetings all, Back from holiday and glad to announce that all the levels for this project have been mapped out and some what plotted. A demo will be about very soon. New screenies even sooner.

@Hammer - Thanks ! ,I've replaced the health guy with some industrial equiptment and it fits the game so much better.

@Natflash Games - Thanks for the praise and wonderful comments, but I wouldn't go so far as saying it makes The Undead look like pong. I see them at 2 different animals. Originally I was going to do a zombie horror game but just went the psycological horror route instead.

Here's one of the more eerie scenes. As i dress up the second and third levels I will post more. Now that I'm back I'm going in full swing. Victims like these are spread throughout the game. Most you cant interact with , they are just there for atmosphere and to remind you of why you're doing what you're doing. You can also see the new health counter wich is some industrial hatch with glass and a skull behind it. As the blood drains, the skull is revealed more and more. Also you can see the new weapon; the tracker .17mm 7 shot revolver. This was skinned from a real weapon as well as the dimensions, just to make it completely accurate. I dirtied up the hand a bit to match the weaponry also. I've raised the brightness of the pic a bit so it wouldn't be too dark.

@mc danger- Well yes and no. I will have possibly 2 versions of the game. I've redone the skin for the zombies and replaced "the naughty bits" with something more disgusting. I removed them and sewed them up. I'm still not sure if it would be decent enough to show, but hey there is more to the game than them. The pg13 version will be available to the FPSC forum.

@Maeko- Thanks!

@connor123 - More to come tonight or tomorrow(tryin to finish up the fpe files for part1 of "Creeps and Freaks")

Any opinions on the new health counter (I'm obsessing, I know)? Improvement? not? back to the drawing board?

Sigh, I hate to bear bad news, but UNDER will not be hitting FPSC. The vision is far to grand for the limitations that FPSC has. If I finished the game it would only be releasable on DVD rom because of it's filesize. just the few small level of unpopulated, and non dressed scenery came up to a whopping 40mb, and I even kept these levels small. Well I will continue my original project in FPSC wich is only 9 levels long and not nearly as detailed as Under. Under was also originally planned for Third person anyway, so it will be created in BOSGCS instead.I'm sorry for the disappointment, but this will be a lesson to me to keep my FPSC projects small.

All well, At least with a better engine, you will make the game much better!

So, good luck with the next Under!

It's a great shame to hear that D13. Although you are making it in another engine, which you say will be an improvement, you gave us all some inspiration.

Disturbing 13,

I am very sad to hear that - its another a great loss to this community.

Havent checked BOSGCS out in a while although I am always watching the progress of differing engines - I may head over there and see how its looking - download the latest version and join you while I await and see what the FPSC upgrade brings as Im starting to get itchy what with sitting around with my game making development being on hold.

Just cant live without it for too long.

See ya

That's exactly why I have to switch. But my original project "Island 8" is far less involved and well within the FPSC limits. So it will be my first game released In FPSC,It's smaller so I can distribute it online like I wished. the planning for this game has been done ages ago, and the first stage is practicly done already. I will have to tweak it and redo som e of the models. Only things that were holding me back were closecombat weapons, and a good water decal. Well with the close combat fixed and some decent water decals being made, I don't see any reason to not do that project instead. I'll post a new topic when I get more done on it.

Your Game was looking amazing. Life isn't fair!!!!

Couldn't you just upload the game on filefront, or another hosting site. Some offer file sizes up to 500MB in size.

Good luck with your new game

Unfortunately not, as I said just 3 small levels the first one being complete and the second and third barely dressed at all came up to 40mb. What I failed to mention was that it was 40mb zipped. This was slated for a full 20 level game release (each level being divided up into 3 FPSC levels). See where it would end up 2GB or more?

I have levels of 200mb - so a large game could certainly be a squeeze trying to get it on to a standard DVD
