Pretty good stop-motion animation there - should stick it on You Tube...

Encode me a WMV version Wigg. Go on chap. You know you want too. I'm trying to avoid downloading extra crap I don't use (such as Quicktime with its bolted on ITunes) on my fresh install.

Here's a beer.

Fallout, there's a Quicktime & RealPlayer light dll out there somewhere which you can install into Winamp as an extension - Means no having to install the damned annoying applications, but you still get the codecs

And you can get Quicktime without iTunes from Apple, anyway...

No, you're missing the point. The real reason is laziness, not ITunes. Remember, hard work pays off in the future, but laziness pays off now.

Interesting; I remember doing something similar when I was in primary school .

Quicktime used to be good, but now it sucks pants, almost as badly as Adobe Acrobat 'use-up-all-memory-and-crash-your-computer' Reader.

Quicktime is the format i use, for industry projects from TV down to mobile phone (.h264) jobs, so i beg to differ.

I had to rescue a video project of waverunners for yamaha that was producing blurred text at the end. the non compressed QT file was converted to DVD with Stunning Quality.

Most cable tv stations that i know of run FCP 4.5 + and if they have a pc studio its usually an AVID suite, however trying to back up AVID movie data can be a nightmare. AVID can use QT natively as well because they know the quality is the bomb.

FCP wont chew up your whole hard drive for the video, it records the timecode. You just insert the tape into your video deck and it will re-edit the movie from the time line. this means a 4 gig project can be stored on your computer for a few kilobytes.

exporting at the final result yields a large file but you save umpteen space with this method.

Ha ha ha awesome Wigget! "It's a skeleton," Good work.

Quicktime is like the Adobe Acrobat to WMV's Notepad. But yeah I know it's the proper thing to use...

Man, what do you do for work? You're always arsing about in the office. I remember arsing about in the office for me consisted of smiling or turning my head 45 degrees from the monitor. Cigarette breaks had to be cunningly fashioned as bolt ons to toilet breaks, or severe head injuries which allowed you a 2 minute lie down on the spiked matress. Ok, going a bit ott now. But clearly you must work in an isolated relay station in the Austrailian desert where nobody can give you an evil look for moving your hands away from the keyboard for more than microsecond.

you could drop the size by half yet its not properly divisible 4:3 or 16:9 aspects so rendering out again might cause some hiccups.

you could drop the audio to 8 bit mono

don't try and convert an already compressed mpeg file to wmv, work from the source.

QT will always kill a wmv for size and quality.

why not get the video player VLC it should run QT without the overhead of QT being installed.

teh size ratio is half the original ratio taken from teh camera, it comes ou tin 7something by 5something pal format standard. but yeah i can make it the old 4:3 thing. Also was the filetype i selected wouldn't let me change the sound qual lower. i will fiddle aroudn with it, but the vlc is a good suggestion fallout, awesome program

Any chance you could upload it somewhere else (or e-mail it to me) because I seem to have trouble downloading it from here. I only get as far as the wizard apologising for being late before it stops downloading. Go on. You know you want to.
