Hello, I have this crazy hijacker that keeps changing my homepage to this http://www.safetyuptodate.net/ . It's annoying. I like my Google home page. I searched and searched, and found Spy ware S&D.

I tried it, and seemed to work. I restarted my computer after it found like 60 gazillion things on my comp. It didn't work. I tried manually finding it, on a website. : http://www.easydesksoftware.com/news/news23.htm

That didn't seem to work. Though what's funny is when I go, tools Internet options, it still shows my Google being set. Just it doesn't go there when I open IE. Any help is appreciated.

I am gonna make a guess here, but I think you have SmitScam (need to check that).

Do you have any OTHER changes? IE, a box poping up telling to you install spyremoval?

Okay, even without the hijack this, I believe I removed the thing by having spybot boot on restart and changed them manually using advanced settings, tools (turn on browser pages), browser pages. But this works ONLY on restart (also turn on home page protection thing as well).

I'll leave it up to the mods, but if it is smitscam this is your likely suspect

Thanks. I didn't try you suggestion, but I did a system restore back to yesterday, (thank you windows defender). So it works now. If I ever run into the same problem, I'll try your suggestion.

hmm... strange. I can't confirm the "log me in" software as real or fake... the thing is that alot of the results from the LMIInit.dll are of hijackthis logs... I personally would have believed that I should have recieved more "what this is" sites then logs...

I figure that if your computer no longer has the error that the dll is safe... but it is strange.

The log me in software is real. It allows me to log in to my computer through a web browser from any computer in the world (for free). If you're curious, http://www.logmein.com
