Guys--

Normally, I would never post a whole thread requesting something as simple as a readily made script, but truly--this is, well, kind of urgent. After all--I'm not exactly known for making threads like this.

Anyway, down to buisness--I'd assume that a portion of people who've been here for quite a long time will remember JasUK's scripts. There were two main ones--a "story telling script" one, and a "countdown timer" one. I've been in urgent need of the latter for a while now... and don't think I didn't search--I searched alright, even manually, through every page of both the Showcase and Scripts boards, but to no avail. Now, I believe that the "story telling script" was in the Showcase board--after finally tracking that one down, I discovered that it had been fully deleted (quite an odd thing, especially in those days).

So the question is quite simple--do any of the board veterans around here happen to have Jas' Timer script left on their HD? I'd be forever in your debt, seriously.

Again, apolgies for making an entire thread out of this, but I had no other option. I spent an hour manually searching through these boards, and turned up with nothing. This is really my last resort. Thank you.

EDIT: To end on a light note, I just realised I made the 1,000 thread. Go me!

Thanks for the help, guys.

I'll also give it another shot--it's more than possible that I just skipped over it while I was searching the pages.

Thanks again!

I think it was posted in the Showcase--the "Storytelling" thread was in the Showcase (before it was deleted), and doing a Google forum search turned up with the thread--however, clicking into it just takes you to the Showcase board.

Thanks again for your help!

Jiffy,

Greetings. I happen to have a copy of the Jasuk "countdown timer". This is the original download, as it was offered way back while EA was all the rage.

Well, this is FUBAR! See next post below.

Thanks,

Seth Black

Thank you infinitely, Seth!

This will help me to an unmeasurable extent, I really can't thank you enough.

Failing that, though, I'll simply say: Thank you.

Jiffy,

The Forum doesn't seem to let me upload the .zip here. I dunno.

I've taken the liberty of putting the .fpi in an email, and sent it to you that way.

There is a video that demonstrates the timer in action. I've also provided the code below, as it appeared back in EA's heyday.

You are more than welcome. Glad I could help.

Thanks,

Seth Black

Thanks, Seth.

I just recieved your e-mail, and again, I'm incredibly thankful. Curiously, though, did the countdown only go down to 5?

Seth,

Thanks for clearing that up. Again, my hat is off to you, thanks.

EDIT: Curiously, in case you know--does 1500 as the timer length denote 1 second?

Ah, thanks for clearing that up, Merranvo.

The only problem I'm having now is getting a certain amount of these HUD images to display. I've got 24 set up, but it only shows 17 of them. So, I decided to take the rest of the HUD images into a new FPI, and use the runfpi= command to get the script to run when needed. The second script runs fine, but it shows random stock HUDs instead of the ones set originally. This also happens if I make the second script the one that's connected to the trigger zone. Here is the script:

Blobzone--You have to use the last Code Snippet Seth posted.

And as for escaping--here's the deal.

1. You start off by attaching that script to a Trigger Zone--easy enough. Make sure that you make the name of the Zone unique though; something like "Timer Zone" will do.
2. Now, check back at the script and make sure that the images and audio it is directing itself to is pointed to your media (the script doesn't come with the necessary images/audio).
3. Now go into FPSC and make the area you have to run through.
4. Finally, make a switch, and make the IfUsed the name of the zone. The script is set so that once it is activated, the script actually deactivates itself.

I think it was a zip with the code, and maybe the video? I can't actually remember, but I just remember that it didn't work (I could look several posts above here to find out, but that was the general gist).

@blobzone entertainment inc,

Greetings. Use this, it's Jasuk's original script. The DLs didn't work. I dunno why.

Hope it helps you with your endeavors.

Thanks,

Seth Black

fyi 5000=5seconds 300000=5min

and there are bugs with timer (primarly that it is global) and the fact that the script slows over distance... will look into your problems a little later.

try removing "languagebank\english"

I realise that, Merranvo.

When I wrote "035min" or "015min", I actually meant 35 and 15 seconds, respectively. I don't know why I did it, but I just sort of "felt like it". The timer itself only goes for 2 minutes. I'll give your suggestion a go now.

How can I show the text? Thanks
