I bought £80 nugglins worth of vinyl when I was at uni and spent a few weeks learning to DJ on my mates decks. Now I'm back home, I have vinyl and no means to play it or DJ! It sucks a lot, cos I have some bad boy tunes on there.

I thought maybe I'd stick a chopstick in my ear and spin the vinyl on the end. Yeah ... that might work.

Btw, here's my first and only ever uploaded mix. It's ropey, but I'm a rookie. The tunes are phatter than aunt sally though (I dont know who she is ... just assume she's fat).

Obviously, don't expect mad skills. In fact, just ignore the mixing all together and appreciate the fine tunage.

If anyone's interested, that group is called 'Birdie Nam Nam' - definitely get their album when it comes out!

the mixes arent too bad. Im not all the way through it yet but i havent heard any trainwrecks XD.

I know your not usually mixin on vinyl but obviously you know how to spot breaks and such and the record.

It really helps writing the music I think. I understand the music well, know the records and appeciate key, pitch, tempo, phase etc. I think that helped me pick it up quite quickly. I still need a lot more time on the decks to get a smooth mix together though. Maybe I'll pick myself up some deckages when I (a) have somewhere to put them and (b) have some casheesh. I should be getting Spectrum on vinyl shortly as that'll be released on A5R. More incentive to at least buy a single turn table.

Cheers for giving it a listen. I never bothered putting it online anywhere cos I thought I'd get a chance to do a better one. Too late now.
