Hi, I'm Zeroblitzt, you may not know me, or if you do you probably hate me. I recently got the urge to start programming again (I just recently got out of school and i'm already bored... gotta pass the time until I get a job), so today I went into the IRC network on Devhat.
I was shocked! It's deader than ever!
Come on, people, the IRC room is the best place to discuss coding ideas, techniques, and of course NON-coding ideas.
Maybe you aren't using it because you are just too shy. Well, don't be. I'm fairly certain the users won't bite. Maybe you don't use it because you don't know how. Never fear, here is an easy guide to getting started.
1. Get an IRC client. Most users will recommend mIRC (www.mirc.com)
2. Install, run, and type "/server irc.devhat.net" in the main text box. You'll be connected to the Devhat IRC server where we hang.
3. type "/nick (nickname here)" to change your nick name.
4. type "/join #channel" to join new channels, and "/list" to list all the active channels.
Alternately, if you dont want to download a seperate client, you can navigate to the top right corner of Apollo, and you'll see a drop down box (the default text is My Threads). Scroll down until you see "IRC Chat", click it and hit Go. You'll be taken to the Java client thats built into the TGC site.
Alright, that was just a small rant / guide / thing because I'd like to see more people in the IRC room.
Who are the brain police?
