Does anyone know a good book on Direct X 9 shaders?

This one sounds quite useful, looking at the layout of the book it reminds me of a good Cinema 4D book, I'm sure its worth it, read the reviews at the bottom;

Quote: "This is a book that gets straight to the point. It covers a wide variety of rendering topics relevant to vertex and pixel shader programming, all with clear example code. The topics are covered in enough detail for the reader to create their own great 3D effects. The introductory sections are well structured and serve as a valuable reference for HLSL and shader assembly. On top of all of this, the coverage of new shader models vs_3_0 and ps_3_0 is the best I've seen. Five stars! "

And the link;

I'm sure if you're not in the UK, your amazon will have it, these sort of books are generally sold on most amazon sites.

The ShaderX series(1-3 I believe) are good books for shaders as well as the one Musashi listed. The Programming Gems series(while not all about shaders) are also great books for any programmer to have in order to keep up with the latest tricks and tips.

A book? I hate book. Book is stupid.

They are ace books indeed - but there are a few stinkers in the series. If I remember the first one was ace, but after that it goes in cycles - depending on whether they've actually got enough GOOD content to bring out a book, or they just hurry them. Amazon reviews are good for checking up.
