Cool, we almost have exactly the same specs (except I have less disk space, slower connection, and no DVD).

Btw, have u got a heatpipe on your processor?

AthlonXP 2000+ (HeatPipe cooled), 512MB DDR, Geforce4Ti4400 128MB, 17" monitor, 5.1 sound, 192GB RAID Disk Space, 1MB/s cable, 400W, 16x48x DVD, 32x12x48 CDRW, 10/100 Ethernet,8 FANS!

Not the best, although it was when I bought it...

1) Athlon 1900+, 512Mb DDR, 100GB single drive, DVD, RWx24, 19 inch monitor, GF3 Ti500, 512k cable, 10/100 Ethernet, SB Audigy 5.1 with subwoofer thingy, running on XP
2) HP P3 850 laptop with 15 inch screen, 256Mb, 10GB, DVD, wireless network card (so 11mb Ethenet which connects to 512k cable via router hub) running on XP - it's what I'm on now... so far every DBP post straight from my bed!
3) P2 450 with 128mb, GF2MX, 15Gb, 19 inch screen, DVD, 4xRW, internal zip, SB Awe 128 with subwoofer etc connected to cable/router etc etc
4) P1 133 with 128mb, 15 inch screen, 6Gb, DVD, 2xRW, Voodoo2, SB Awe 64, soon to be connected to cable/router etc etc via wireless running on 98

Must update the laptop soon... need another RW....

Cheers

I am 99% probably lying in bed right now... so don't blame me for crappy typing

Well mine are in my signature. Not great but it does the job (fairly) well. Its a bit slow now, but money's tight and I can't afford a better graphics card.

It cost me less than £700 a couple of days ago brand new(about $1000 )..... except i already had the monitor....

Thats wot u get for shopping around for components instead of pre-built machines!

AthlonXP 2000+ (HeatPipe cooled), 512MB DDR, Geforce4Ti4400 128MB, 17" monitor, 5.1 sound, 192GB RAID Disk Space, 1MB/s cable, 400W, 16x48x DVD, 32x12x48 CDRW, 10/100 Ethernet,8 FANS!

I used to have a pre-built Hewlett Packard, it had an awfull intel810 intergrated graphics solution. The only thing good about the set-up was the monitor which i still have, what is worse my computer now is greatly more powerful than my old HP but it only cost a fraction of the price (£450 about a year ago)

Specs:- 1GHZ athlon, Radeon8500, 192mb ram

No, no heatpipe.
Oh, and by the way, I got 9788 in 3Dmark (without overclocking CPU or GFX card)...

I would build my own machine but it seems pretty complicated to build from scratch. I have added components like graphics and sound cards before but going the whole hog seems a bit of a daunting task.
I'll give it some considuration though as the machine i'm using at the moment is only a intermediate machine as our old one ( a pre built Tiny machine) took a run and jump.

A_M, you should be getting well over the 12000 mark on 3dmark (unless u r running 1600x1200)!!!!!!!!

AthlonXP 2000+ (HeatPipe cooled), 512MB DDR, Geforce4Ti4400 128MB, 17" monitor, 5.1 sound, 192GB RAID Disk Space, 1MB/s cable, 400W, 16x48x DVD, 32x12x48 CDRW, 10/100 Ethernet,8 FANS!

Erm, no I shouldn't, not with the standard settings (1024x768x32) and not without overclocking/tweaking lots. Are you sure you're not thinking of a different version of 3dmark (you get a LOT more with 3Dmark2000 than 2001SE)?

According to the 3dmark website, scores go up (in 3dmark2001se) to 13402 for an athlon xp 2000+ with geforce 4 ti4400 at 1024x768x32

I really should run 3dmark sumtime - i have the leadtek geforce 4 ti4400 card (2 fans and a giant heatsink http://www.gamingin3d.com/reviews/A250/card1.gif and overclocks to 305/665 from 275/550 - perfectly stable in a 100 hour test according to reviews..... the ti4600 runs at only 300/650!!!!!!)

AthlonXP 2000+ (HeatPipe cooled), 512MB DDR, Geforce4Ti4400 128MB, 17" monitor, 5.1 sound, 192GB RAID Disk Space, 1MB/s cable, 400W, 16x48x DVD, 32x12x48 CDRW, 10/100 Ethernet,8 FANS!

forgot to write:
(Although that score of 13402 is obviously overclocked, but there are still scores well over 11000 that are not overclocked at all)

(btw, are there no 'edit post' features on this new forum??? very useful feature!!!)

AthlonXP 2000+ (HeatPipe cooled), 512MB DDR, Geforce4Ti4400 128MB, 17" monitor, 5.1 sound, 192GB RAID Disk Space, 1MB/s cable, 400W, 16x48x DVD, 32x12x48 CDRW, 10/100 Ethernet,8 FANS!

I just flashed my bios, so my 2100+ processor is actually working at it's proper speed now - (unflashed, the mobo can cope with 2000+, but now it can cope with 2600+)....

AthlonXP 2100+ (HeatPipe cooled), 512MB DDR, Geforce4Ti4400 128MB, 17" monitor, 5.1 sound, 192GB RAID Disk Space, 1MB/s cable, 400W, 16x48x DVD, 32x12x48 CDRW, 10/100 Ethernet,8 FANS!

right now i have
-- AMD Duron2 800Mhz | 512Mb 133Mhz Ram | KT133/6x86-B
-- 17" CTX XT700 | GeForce2 Mx 200 32Mb AGP | C-Media 8378
-- Seagate 60GB ATA100 5400 | Maxtor 40Gb ATA100 5400
-- Philips DvD-Ram Industry 2400 | Philip CDRW 1600
-- Creative WebcamGO Plus! | Mustek 1200USB+ (XP no like)
-- WinXP Corp 2600 SP1 | DirectX 8.1b | Detonator4 40.73UB

not the best by far... but good enough for alot of what i do

the one i had a few days ago was pretty sweet though -
-- AMD Dual AlthonXP 2.5Ghz DDR | 1.5GB DDR Ram | AMD768
-- 21" CTX TFT2100 | SLi Quattro XGL 128Mb DDR AGP
-- Creative SB Audiology Platinum 5.1 Cambridgeworks
-- IBM 160Gb 5400 ATA133 | IBM 160Gb 5400 ATA133
-- [DvD-Ram & CDRW are now in my current system]
-- [WebCam & Scanner also kinda on my current system]
-- WinME/WinXP Home/Win2000 [fully updated]
-- DirectX 8.1b Debug | Detonator4 30.83

Alot of the hardware is still being tested for current infections, and hidden stuff - only reason certain things are on my new system are cause they've been cleaned already, was using an old Creative CDRom 48x to install things. And the monitory broke down, well lol by that i mean my cat was fumbling about my computer desk and knocked it off - TFT screens don't like hitting the ground [img]http://members.lycos.co.uk/TimeSaga/smile

Holy jumping mother of god NOOOO!!!...
