sorry, not FPSC ready, i was modelling a dragon, but got it all wrong, the anatomy on the model and texture, and to my opinion, just looks like a big dog, i want to remake this, jut thought i'd give away this one before i rewrite over it

its hard to keep dragons low-poly, this being my first attempt, i didnt put enough detail into the head

well anyway, the .MAX scene and .PSD texture is included, meh

p.s) i also tried rigging it with a biped, LOL, and mucked it up by posing it in figure mode and saving it...woops

thanks, i dont think so though, the head is so "early quake" style, stretched texture, and completely off anatomy

lol.

I call him Rover.

Seriously though dude, That could have won the 3D board's Dragon competition a while back.

Are you making a new Bi-ped or ridiculously stretching the standard one..

I just realised what a dumb question that was. Ignore.

i was having some problems with the bones, so i tested out the biped, pity you cant add more bones, like tails and such...

i dont think it would have won that comp, there isnt enough detail in the head of this one...

??? You CAN add more bones to biped. In fact, it supports like 20 tail bone links. And if that isn't enough for you, any number of standard max bones can be attached to a biped.

I'm pretty sure that's how they added mouth movements in the original Half-Life, with regular max bones attached to a biped. Although nowadays its easier to use a ponytail link for simple mouth movements. I added a mouth animation to the HL2 zombie a while back (never released though). It was creepy.

Really nice dragon by the way. I wouldn't call that a failure at all. Better than I could do.

Yeah I'm sure version 7 supports it, I think they DID increase the number of links for version 8 though. You can either define it in the biped rollout, or while in figure mode there is a section in the rollout called "structure" where you can add more links, as well as props like swords. And if you can't get exactly what you want from within biped, you can just link regular bones to the biped, which you can do in the heirarchy panel.

Hehe, yeah, whenever I don't use character studio for a while its like I almost have to re-learn it all over again, anything other than a simple straightforward rig is just so complicated.
