i've been working on some scripts and none of them seem to be working. i'm trying to find the problem and feel that it is either with my scripting or with finding them. i've read the manual and can't find any help in it. and i felt that this would be the place that this would fit. if not please let me know. but my question is: is there such thing as a debugger program that i could use to find the problem. any help would be greatly appreciated. thank you.

There is no such programme built into FPSC.

Indeed there is not really any useful feedback from the engine in any user viewable form.

Certainly a level compile result .txt file written to the FPSC folder showing compile info and any errors which would give feedback to the user might be of some help to advanced users at least - though that would not necessarily be what you neded in this instance.

I doubt that suchlike has any immediate priority for TGC so its unlikely we will see anything of this nature in the near future - but who knows it may fit in with and as part of FPSC development somewhere along the line so as to make something like this possible without becoming a major effort for TGC to incorporate.

A compile console, readout or compile status report would be useful. We have some feedback such as it is at compile in as much as we can see the engine action and compile process in the compile dialogue box in editor, however none of that information is retained as viewable by the user once the process either completes or fails and is ended by the user.

It might allow at least some instances of bugs, errors or issues to be more widely solved by the community and should help in reducing the volume of bug reports and posts many of which may not be actual bugs at all but user errors.

In respect of scripts themselves as standalone units as far as I am aware there are no progs available which can provide feedback to a user while working with them so there is no way to usefully confirm any errors or debug them.

I may be wrong and just dont know of something.

Sorry that does not help you much - I'm adfraid we all very much in the same boat as it were.

You could try being more specific about your problems and maybe posting your scripts - someone here may be able to help further.
