hello
this is my first post in the darkbasic section. I\'m a FSSCreator user.
OK i thinking about bying darkbasic (the regular version not the 89 dollar version.)
I just want to know if db can make third person games first person games and racing games. I tried to find some screenshots
but theones on the site dont really look good.

Can some one tell me the difference in the regular version and the pro version?

Yes, DB can make third/first-person games and racing games, you can make whatever you code.

For a good detailed list of the difference between pro and classic, look at this comparison chart

Those were made with DBP, but you can achieve the same results with classic.

thanks for the feedback, i just bought dbclassic like10 mmins ago.

now can someone like tell me the limitation of db.
i used the trial version and i liked the spider/scorpion demo.
the one that had the spider/scopion creature with the little ball.

i didnt see any lag in it at all. but i would like to know what would cause lag. would it be to many enemies, obects, models?

well,I use dbp. I did use dbc a while back. Dbp is faster on a lot of parts, but I used dbc for creating a basic first person shooter. If you have trouble with dbc,you can create plug-ins. I've started learning c++ a ways back, and I can now write plug-ins for it. I am starting with directx so I can use stuff like that(You can use dlls if you have dbc enhanced, which I think is an upgrade(free)). But,to answer your question without blabbing, yes, too many objects would cause lag. Objects very complex can generate lag with lighting. When I used dbc,I tried using a halo 1 level(hang 'em high),and it lagged so unbelievable,I felt like crying. Take your time to learn dbc, then,if you have money and stuff, buy darkbasic pro. It is overall better(Yay of udts!!!). But you can create pretty much the same stuff in darkbasic classic. Hope I've helped somewhat.

all ben needs is his band, his guitar, and his computer

DBC can do a lot without lagging on mid range computers. Gforce 5200 1800+. You need to keep the poly count down to 1000 per model maximum. You can make good models with 1000 polygons.
