Dont worry this thread isnt about begging to be a moderator, so you dont need to get ready to flame. On my forum someone is asking to be a mod. When should a user become a mod trying to decide. They could destroy my forum if they were?
Thanks, Alex

well on my gmod server ive had 5 admins, now 3, ive now learned who not to ever admin, though the 2 people i banned didnt do anything like crash the server they did things like give people godmode give them admin only weapons(which could crash the server) even make there own server was the last straw so i let them go,

general rules of thumb would be, know them for a while depending on how active/long your forums have been up would totally effect this, my server now has a 2week active minimum, and remember people should never have to ask to be an admin on forums or anywhere, they should just be regulars and act like they arent complete noobs and make sure they dont give any indications of being control freaks or anything that would potentially annoy other users, well its pretty easy to tell so just get to know them first then make your choises(also choosing your best friends just cause they asked can be a mistake)

Hallowed are the ori.

Anyone who asks to be a mod doesn't deserve it. They clearly just want extra abilities and privaleges.

To those who say "Who cares" - i think they just lost the right to post and ask about anything non-tgc related on this forum!

Who cares about his forum? Who cares about anything you post about? Same people? Maybe...

My advice - try to pick people who contribute usefullness. Obviously a sense of humour is important, but jokers and people who just post sarcy comments probably wont make good mods...

Despite the fact that I was kidding, this is just like the subway conductor telling the one guy who's blocking the doors to move. They never talk to you directly, but you always know if it's aimed at you.

It should be obvious. If it isn't obvious, you don't want them as a mod. You wouldn't give a woman your credit card would you? The only woman you'd give your credit card to would be your mrs, and you'd still then be highly skeptical and cautious (and rightly so!).

Megaton and Chris Franklin - Be jerks on another forum. This was an honest question, and not everyone can see your intent.

I assumed Megaton was being sarcastic, but I am used to his wise-ass-ness. Jimmy rubbed off on him.

You seem to do a lot of that. Why can't you jsut grow up and be serious. I can't remember the last time you posted in a thread without some sort of dumb joke in it.
