Sony could buy about twelve LG's if they wanted to. They're the most successful home entertainment company in the world.
edit: I heard rumors that Sony wants to buy Kyocera, so maybe that's where the confusion came from.
Eh, this is only a quarter of a billion dollars... they've got that lying around, I'm sure. This sort of stuff always seems to happen to electronics companies. Didn't Nintendo have this same problem? And Aiwa? I dunno, when you're dealing with that much money I guess accidents can happen, but even I, the biggest Sony fanboy on TGC (the
only Sony fanboy on tgc?
) will admit that Sony really %#@#%ed the pooch on this one, if it proves to be true. But...

Don't bilateral tax treaties only exist between annexed nations and their "superiors" or whatever they call that? Like Puerto Rico and The United States, or Hong Kong and England before HK went back to Chinese rule? And I wouldn't be surprised if they managed to win a case like that. The bigger the corporation, the more often they get away with crap, and sony has a long, long history of dodging bullets and whatnot (like most other super-corporations). I'm not saying they should get away with it, I'm saying they probably will, so don't try to misquote me
That seems to be happening a lot lately lol
