OKAY, I had no idea where to put this but anyway here goes...

How do you do the following:
---Attatch a ZIP file to a post (I tried the browse thing, but the download wouldn't work)
---Post images directly into your post without a link.

Thanks.

I doubt you can draw me/60 by hand, so you REALLY can't draw ME/1, can you? Okay, you do that. Just tell me when you're done, I'll be someplace else having a life.

Pictures have to be hosted onto the web, e.g. on photobucket
Then use the image button to put in the url of the picture.

You can use the browse button to attach .zip files, or use the file uploader applet. I think there is a 50mb limit for attachments - did you exceed that?

Also, depending on forum traffic, the upload may fail cause the server gets busy.

Hope this helps!

Images can be hosted directly on this forum. Just upload it using the browse button. Then review your post, click on view button to show your piccy in a popup window, copy the URL, then edit your post, move cursor to where you want image pasted, click the image button and post the URL you copied earlier.

Is there a set limit to how long a forum attachment is hosted by the forum? Will it be auto-deleted after a set amount of time?

And, if so. How long?

as long as its under 50 meg the attached file should just be there forever, unless Rich deletes it for some reason

And the other thing to note is that you can't hotlink to the attachments from other websites and you must be logged in as a forum user to view or download attachments. So you can't simply host your game files on here and hotlink them from your own website.

And I would think there will be a time when Rich will be forced to delete some old files, so I would not rely on your files being here forever.

Thanks for the replies. So, to attach a file I can just go to browse and attach my under-50MB ZIP File that way? OR do I need the applet (Which I had no idea how to use)

Oops, forgot to mention one thing:
Thanks Spooky for the easy way to do that

just browse to the file locally using the Browse button in the Post Forum Message area. If that fails you might need the applet

Thanks everybody! But guess what: I have a new question Everybody else looks like this:

Anyway, if you care to answer, the question is:
How do you post a web URL in your sig, but have it show up as something else. Like for example, how would I make http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=82899&b=7 show up as PEN AND PAPER or something different like that. Any ideas?

Blah Blah blah Blah Blah Blah... Okay I'm done.
