So far, its been a month of very hot humid and sunny weather here - at the moment, Chichester is probably very close to having a hose-pipe ban.

And the forcast for the next week is more hot, humid and sunny weather... Its a good job I've got two fans in the office.

The only problem is they keep on wanting my autograph.

in north texas we havnt had rain in weeks and we arnt allowed to do fireworks tuesday cause they are banned temporary.. sucks. We are also on a water ban where we arnt allowed to water our lawns or use more then so much water a month. And its blazing hot.

When I lived in Fort Worth, they had that same ban, but it wasnt a temp fireworks ban, it was a perm ban. I also hated the water ban, as it got really hot with all the red clay underneath the ground. It looked like the ground was steaming because the clay was releasing all the water from the 110 degree weather

It's blazing hot here in California, and my air conditioner is acting up. It gets so humid in here .

I wonder if I have a firework ban too? I live very close the locations of some very rampant fires (those who live in Southern California should remember the San Bernardino Mountain fires in 2003, which caused all schools in the area to be shut down for a week. There was ashes falling from the sky, and the whole placed smelled like hickory for the next few weeks.) We already have skyrocket bans, and yet somehow my neighbors keep getting them .

We have a fireworks ban here, with $1000 fine and 5 days in jail if you are caught with so much as a sparkler.

Just another example of how everybody has to suffer b/c a few idiots can't keep themselves from setting things on fire. And of course the police love the ban b/c it means more revenue from fines and bail.

Punish the idiots, but let non-fire-starting people pursue happiness dammit.

p.s.
They banned us from using fireworks, but it's still perfectly legal to buy truckloads of fireworks from the local shops. Tell me that makes sense.

Heck the government never makes much sense like this. You can buy cigarettes just about anywhere but it has become near impossible to smoke em. Druggies can buy hypodermics but its against the law to use em.

At least you can buy fireworks sparklers are illegal in my state along with those little wine bottle poppers that shoot out confetti when you pull the string.

PS. Weather here has been really good actually mid 80's and alot of that rain skipped us, though about 20 miles north they got drenched.

I'm up in northern AZ, and it's hot as blazes (literally) here. We've had wildfires burning all over AZ, Utah, Nevada, and California the last week. Last Sunday, the sky was almost black with smoke.

It's rained a little this week, but that just made it hot andhumid.

Fireworks are always illegal in AZ, but I can just head over the border to Utah and buy them. Not sure if there are any restrictions other than the usual in Utah this year or not. In Utah, you can only buy sparklers and fountains and those types of boring fireworks, and you can only buy them during July.

Good performance is better than a good excuse.

I suppose allowing people to buy fireworks stops criminals from making money by selling them illegally and allowing druggies to buy needles stops them from using dirty needles which would eventually leave them taking up room in hospitals (although their habit could do this just as easily).

Fortunately forest fires are very rare here, and not through lack of forests either...

According to scientists, the south of England could turn into a desert in around 50 years, bringing with it the associated heat-related problems.

What gets people annoyed around here is the amount of house building thats going on - how is the current water supply supposed to support these extra people (especially when the water companies miss their quotas for stopping leaks) ?

However, the good news is, that to reduce congestion, they may be introducing my idea of introducing a London-style congestion charge.

I live near London and it definitely hasn't been hot weather all month. Pretty good month for Britain (esp for June) but unless you count temperatures around 20 degrees with overcast clouds "hot" (for *some* of the days in June, other times was 30+) then you obviously just moved down south from the outer hebrides or something.

Didn't mention anything about rain. Think it's been about the same here (think it rained on and off for a couple of days only), and we have definitely been on a hosepipe ban for at least a month now. But parts of June went down to like 19 degrees with loads of dreary cloud cover.

So it's been 30+ degrees for every day in June? Don't you remember that big cloud that covered the whole of the UK for about 3 days a couple of weeks back and shoved everybody down to about 20 degrees? (which isn't hot)

Hmm, those 3 or 4 days that the BBC and all the web sites said it was only 19 degrees anywhere in the country? Where you couldn't see the UK from cloud? Where in the morning going to work it was probably a good idea to turn on the heater for a bit if you wern't wearing a jacket?

I'm hot a lot here in texas...it's practically a snow day if it gets down to 20 degrees celsius in between April and September.

I'd use a fan in my office, but all of my fans are just too hot to cool me down...
