could someone please tell me how to have an enemy spawn when you get close to the spot they were placed at?

also, when i place small entities such as guns, keys and ammo, they are in a different place ingame, how do i fix this if i can?

thank yoiu in advance.

EDIT: i made an attempt at making a decal ( i know texture sucks, but i wanted to see if i could do it before i went to the trouble), and i made a square with a black background and added stuff ontop of it. why is it that the black showed up, when true black is read as transparent? see atatched pic.

Found this someplace here in a post.
Ok, set the "Spawn At Start" setting to "No" on all of the enemies, place the trigger zone and give it an easy name like "Spawn enemies", then give each enemy the same name. In the "IfUsed" section of the trigger sone put the name of the enemies. Then chnage the Main .FPI for the triggersone to plrinzoneactivateifused.fpi, Then test it, when you walk into the trigger zone, your enemies will spawn out of nowhere.

Show the editor and where you are adding the entities so I/we can see what it looks like.

The only surefire way to render black as transparent is by useing alpha channels. It's the most surefire way of getting it to work propperly.

I use paint shop pro and the tutorial pic for making translucent hud's. Im not familiar with Gimp or photoshop, but I'm sure they has at least similar features. I'll explain how I do it in PSP and maybe you can apply it to your own programs.
1.open pic in PSP making sure it's on a background that is rgb000.
2.right click pic in layer tabs, create new mask, from image.
3. when window pops up choose -any non zero source value-
4.On the top bar, Selections, from mask
5.Once again,On the top bar,Selections, then Save Selection to Alpha channel.
6.Erase or merge mask layer with pic layer.
7.save as .tga
Hope that helped.

nope, I had a confuseing picture to work off of, but I'm sure someone with either Photoshop or gimp could shed a bit more light on the subject.
EDIT-the deleting or merging isn't a nessecary step
