Now, this is probably just some stuff just thrown in to get people like me wondering, but I found some strange.... whatever-it-now-is piece of text that is repeated hundreds of times in a source file for a good old Playstation game I came to open
The sentence looks like this:

Looks to me like something translated by a word-for-word online service or something

The strange thing is however that this is contained inside a file of around 31 mb of size, named SOURCE.TRD and firmly put onto the original game CD (no illegal copy or anything).

Since I highly doubt that a source file for an entire game (atleast it's the only file which is actually called 'Source' and also resides within a directory called 'Source') would consist of only that rubbish, along with some values, repeated perhaps around 2000 times, I wonder if anybody has any theory of why this has been put on the game disc?

By the way, the full code part which is repeated looks like this:

I just got curious about it

*bangs head repeatedly on table*

As for you finding literary quotes in ROM files, they were probably just padded to meet some file size something.

Sorry, but since English ain't my first language, I don't tend to read all that much english litterature.... (yep, I haven't read the full versions of Shakespeare's writings either *_*)

its funny reading it because of how ridiculous it is
some ridiculus quotes
"What is your mother"
the fact the the friar guy made 17(i think) mistakes that lead up to 2 accidental deaths
how the nurse person talks about her nipples for like 20 lines
how it gives away the ending in like 4 lines

there was some other funny quotes but I don't remeber them so..
