here you have a example
"Q: Will it be possible to have a game menu? Like "Start game", "credits", "options", "quit" ,"load game" , "save game"?
A: Yes but you are limited in what functions can appear in it. You can however change every single pixel of the game menu, with your own buttons, background, mouse cursor and music"

...Or program yourself a password system.

It isn't that hard, but you'd have to make each level a seperate .exe and run that script that takes you straight into gameplay. You'd just program an .exe loader to call each .exe when the correct password is typed on the loader--and the password is collected at the end/start of a level.

I was just about to say that, just in simpler English:

1. First make every level a different application, give every level a password, put every levels password in the level before it at the end of the level.

2. Make a flash or html application that can read these passwords and direct you to the level’s application, if you know flash or html really well make it so that these passwords unlock the level and that the player wont have to re-write the password every time.

3. I’m sure that if you want multiplayer, some one who has more experience with fps creator can tell you how to use this method to make multiplayer.

But if you are at level 49/50, and you have to go to dinner. Just hibernate the computer instead of turning off

yells "NOOOOoooooooooo......"

You don't have multiple exe's. You simply have a folder in levelbank which has the level#.zip's inside and copydown a level#.zip as level1.zip.

I'm positive that there is a load game function in there because i've downloaded some other peoples games from the internet and there is a load game option, but when i clicked on it, it said i had no saves but i need to start a new game and save, so when i tried saving it, i quit reloaded it and worked.

Did you read that? You even posted it. It's "you are limited in what functions can appear in it."

limited being the key word. So now, they don't say "You can't have a save and load function because are product doesnt do that", they got technical, and that's why you bought it. I don't see why they didnt have a save and load function... No offense to lee bamber, and/or who ever else created it, but, they programmed it, they know how everything works, they even know how the engine that made it works. Why didnt you put in a save and load function?!?!?!?! If I was working on it with them, i would have done it!

And i really don't mean that as an insult to them, and I apologize if they saw that as such.

And, are they seriously working on a version 2? Or is it just one of those "slow" progress things like DGDK v1.2?

NOTE: Seriously, i do not mean any of that to be rude, i just called it how i saw it...

TGC is working on an update for FPSC.They will give us more information sooner or later.
Think of FPSC as a work in progress...essentially all game making engines are.
Evrybody keeps worrying about save and load and most people aren't at the stage in developing their game where they need to worry about that.
I'm not planning on releasing my game until next year at the earliest so save/load is not at the top of my list of things to worry about.
It is also of note that you can put a load or save button in the menu but it would be nonfunctional.

Same here, always works for me (well, I haven't actually done it yet) But If you have a program on your CPU that lets you set passwords for files, documents, etc, then use that. Since when do you need to screw with the scripting in the EXE, or whatever?

You don't have to be insane to answer my questions, but it helps

Couldn't you do something in FPSC main console so then you could do save/load, but then if it works tell everyone how to do it, or release something that lets people do it, because I bet there is something in FPSCs' console that it messing the load thing up.
