I started this today for the Dark Ai compo. Was going to do a game originaly but I probably wasnt going to finish it.

I guess this is animal ai not really sure but it some kind of ai.

You just watch them move around and watch the red cubes mob those blue cubes( will replace with real models later ).

You can speed time up with the spacebar

You can use 1-5 to view different debug data.

I also have one problem with objects just rotating for no reason at all and not connected with dark ai but it wont happen when I rem out ai update so its probably a dark ai problem. If you had this problem with dark ai could you tell me how to fix it. Thanks

If you have suggestions to make it better except for graphics please tell me

Awesome! Really cool! My only suggestion is to make the red cubes attack sooner (so it won't be boring).

Keep working on this until it is a complete environment. Make them grow, and put vegetation around for the cows. And have them reproduce with little cubes. Put water at specific points as well.

Thanks glad you liked it and thanks for the suggestions.

Edit: Oh and UFO you can speed up the ai using space to see them move faster.

Interesting!

You might want to look at this, a competition held in #coding about a month ago, seems to be a similar thing to what you're doing.

I know, it ended about a month back, but the winner's entries are available from the page, I just thought you might be interested in downloading them and see what they were doing, one person (Jamie) implemented some sort of pheremone system... not sure how it worked, but if I'm right, its very cool.

Thanks I'll check them out later.

I added more stuff from things Pincho suggested so now there will be more cubes over time and they drink water(I have to improve this). I added grass but I am going to make a growing system for it so it looks like it grows(they dont eat it yet). I also changed the terrain texture and tent texture(there not that good though ).

Here is a new screenshot

Awesome! I liked how you could move the blue bloxes by clicking. To make this have a game-like abillity, it would be cool if the blue boxes die when attacked enough by red boxes, but red boxes would die too if stampeeded by some blue boxes. It would be a fun game.

Still trying to learn about targets and things like that. It wasn't suppose to be a game more like a simulation but I'm glad its fun

I got eating and drinking badly implemented but its there and you might not even notice it. Here is a screenshot of it

Same thing with the water except it looks like they go inside it.

I also had killing in but I took it out for now because I get a bunch of the same errors and I dont know why it happens.

Anymore ideas to make this better

Quote: "There eating"

you misspelled they're. How dare you

Looks nice

You could play an eating sound when they are eating and a drinking sound when they are drinking. It would make it easier to tell if they are feeding.

I can definately see this becoming a game. It could be a sort of an animal rts where you start with your own tent thing and have to mass your population to defend against the red, while controling grass and water supplies to fuel your population! Keep on working at this, it's a great use of Dark AI.

Edit
Was it easy/difficult to make what you've made? If it is relatively easy to pick up Dark AI and make what you've made then I would consider getting it.

Bio Fox...four guys, one computer, games like nobody's business.
