I live in Israel right now, and currently the Hezbollah militant groups have attacked very close to where I live. These muslim extremist have taken the situation to far by taking hostage 2 Israeli soldiers. Hopefully I wont loose power. Wish me luck

Well Fallout, you must understand that I am only temporarily living in Israel for 3 months, with some family. I have been there for about 2 and a half. My trip is comming to an end and I am comming back to America soon enough. However, this whole conflict has nevertheless shaken me and my family. Hopefully, the fighting will end soon enough and the soldiers will be returned safely even though I doubt it will happen.

You say all that, but don't actually tell him what he has said wrong, or anything about "Israel's past events, tensions with the Palestinians" which makes the comments useless and hollow - a poor mans way of saying "I don't support your opinion some I'm going to somehow make you out to be ignorant and talking non-factually even though you are"

Get your own facts straight before trying to correct someone elses, or at least provide evidence that you know what you're talking about

Ugh, here we go as usual. The typical folks going to show me how much they've been reading the papers.

It was a comment David, I don't think I need to explain or show evidence for anything. I moved to Canada from Israel, and my family & friends are all still there, some even in the area of the bombings. I really don't need or want to talk about this, so find someone else to lecture and scold, this isn't the "Show off your debating skillz" forum.

I care about what happens over there far more then what people think of me here. Me and all the people who needed to hear my opinions already know where I stand and there's really no point in getting into it. Everyone who knows the full story involving the Hezbollah know why Israel invaded. If someone wants to learn more about it, that's what the internet is for.

@Megaton: Ok then. We know where we stand. I mean, you don't happen to have a label on each of your posts stating "I moved to Canada from Israel, and my family & friends are all still there, some even in the area of the bombings" so this is one thing I was unaware of when I wrote that post - so although what I wrote may seem trite and 'lesson-like' it was not intended to be so, and for all I knew, you may of known next to nothing about the subject, but this is not the case. I don't mean the above to sound cold in any way.

And no, this wasn't just me adding my penny's worth to the argument bin a "Show off your debating skillz" style as you said, I just really dislike it when someone states "you're wrong" or whatever, and does not actually back up their cause with a logical answer or counter-evidence.

Obviously you do 'know your stuff' and if you don't want to talk about it openly, that's fine with me, and hopefully fine with everyone else; as I said, I wasn't aware of your situation, and being an annoyance in this way was not in any way the purpose of my post. I hope we understand each other

DavidR: I didn't want to entertain a response for the same reasons Megaton said, and also because it was what I'd like to call a "Matt Rock" comment: so far to one extremity it is completely pointless to argue it because it is blatantly untrue. He made it seems as though he had no idea about the centuries upon centuries of conflict between Palestine and Israel (obviously theres more to this than two soldiers being kidnapped, and the gun violence in America is maybe sliiightly different than the violence where he's at. If it was the same he'd probably not post this at a topic. I don't see why everyone feels the need to have a pretentious self-righteous air about them and jump in the aid for someone who does not need aid if he knows the topics well enough. Should I get upset at you for not trusting in Go0rf's own self defense?

Um, who cares. This is about the trouble the middle east is having and how alex 1337 is getting out alive, not about your reputation as a useless post and post hijacker.

Alex, pardon them for their uselessness on this thread. I am embarressed to have people on these forums that think they can waltz over another persons thread because they don't feel they're getting enough attention. But now back to the last question before this mess started.

I thought the airports were closed and the roads bombed or blocked. How are you getting out?
