I recently purchased Realm Crafter(tm) and im starting work on a MMORPG... and i was wondering if anyone would be interested in helping me out..... i want to get a serious MMORPG on the streets i want to push this engine to its limits
So before this gets locked if this is against the rules (sorry if it is) i would really like to ask you people to lend a helping hand...
If you guys are kind of interested heres my W.i.p idea for this game...

Its called Hell's Earth *name may change at any moment*

the direction of the game is to build your character to the top...but there are some twists...

Heres what i mean... When your playing "your character" your not just playing the character youve made...your playing in a state of mind of you... what i mean is... when you start the game...you dont automaticially choose your faction... you start neutral... the way you play and who you help or kill decides whether your bad or good...or neutral...or a decent faction with both...
Yes theres story line(s)
Heres a little bit of ideas

1. each Major city (good///bad) are governed by..well a giant statue in a stone chair that is a god... Like the evil side is ruled by basicially a form of the devil... but its in stone formation
and the good side is governed by a stone Half trent Half Women...

The level cap im shooting for is 20 for the time being...it will raise fast...but 20 seems like an ok cap for a W.I.P

2. im shooting for about 15 static zones before I (we) expand more.. so like the areas would be like

2 zones are towns
1 zone is an enchanted forest
1 zone is a fire pit (idea still in progress lol)
mulitple zones of planes...
Multiple dungeons
and many more...
but 15 is a good starting number i think

But here is a list of jobs i would need filled if you guys are willing to help me out for free...the only way youd make money off of this is if we decide to make this game a ONE TIME PAYMENT... i will NOT be doing monthly fee's if we get good at this...
But the pay will be split between everyone 50/50 if we decide to start selling... but the list of jobs i need are as followed

Modellers
| modellers with a varity of skill...ones who can do characters and houses and general objects
Scripters
| ones who can learn Realm Crafters simple scripting (ill probably help out...its alot like dbp scripting...if not simpliar)
Storyboarders
| people who can make ideas for events in game and can mold a storyline for the game
2D modellers
|Concept artists/loading screen picture artists
Texturers
|people who can slap textures on models
Sound artists
|can make CUSTOM sounds...not one who can rip them off the internet
Game Masters
|people who can craft zones in RC

So far we have 3 people working with this project...

Heres the list of requirements you need for each job

MODELER: must be able to create custom models with a range from houses-cave scenes.... will take execptions if needed

SCRIPTERS: must own R/C and have an understanding for the language

STORYBOARDERS: must be able to come up with original ideas for the game

2D MODELERS: must own a pencil/pen paper and a scanner and have good drawing skills

TEXTURERS: must be able to open .3ds/ .x/.b3d files and texture them

SOUND ARTISTS : must be able to create sounds to fit..swords/axes/doors/ anything like that

GAME MASTERS: MUST OWN R/C and be able to craft terrian

Please do not flame

Sorry, I'm just not a person of great faith when it comes to making successful products with a drag n' drop game maker that anyone can pick up and do.

me too, but whack in some high detailed custom media and it may stand a chance

p.s) is the terrain always at that resolution? the trees look pretty nice, but the terrain textue really ruins it

What's that? DBP scripting? I don't understand this alien concept.

This project sucks. It's vague. It's made with a generic drag and drop MMORPG maker. The story is superficial, and dependent upon included RC Media. You don't have story, or a concept. Nobody real will join. Only noobs.

Good luck with it. It's just no going to attract any real talent. Sorry to say so, but I know what I'm talking about.

looks nice, I used to be one of those draggers and droppers myself, just make the media and click around telling the program what you want and sorted, that was when I was using Klik n Play and The Games Factory, closest thing to D&D I use now is Torque, but hey you're going for a big project, its a start to getting somewhere, my big game in TGF was a Sonic clone called 'Omega the Hedgehog' I never released it as my old computer broke, although my old HD is laying in my room somewhere.

What the hell? Why wouldn't an experienced person want to be nice and help? I offered to help out. Now I'm not exactly an expert but I'm definitely not a noob. Please reconsider that statement

Sorry... I got to the title 'Hells Earth' and almost wet my pants. I couldn't read any more.
That could well join 'Beyond the Beyond' (Playstation) and 'Revengers of Vengeance' (Sega CD) as worst.. titles... ever.

Easy answer: Because experianced people are all working on their own projects and have done their share of helping and contribution in the past.

No, I guess you're... crazy? I do find it odd though that you would join. RC is a drag and drop toy. I don't see the point of making an MMORPG (Micro Mini Online RPG) that's a carbon copy of every other one. It will take a ton of work. It will take money. And there will be no return.

The RC guys are going to make money. Good for them. They're like the kind of guys that write some crap book 'How to Win at Gambling Every Time'. They make money off of the book, not gambling.

So, it's a huge investment of time and effort for a crap project. I don't see the point in it. It's basically a waste of time. Therefore, I think that pretty much any non-noob wouldn't touch it. There's always an exception, and I guess this is it. If RC floats your boat, then good for you. I personally won't touch it. Like Megaton said, anyone that's not a noob would not want to associate themselves with a project leader that has no real talent.

Take me for example. Why would I join this project, do lots of work, for someone else to get credit? Especially when I'm an artist and a programmer myself. I'd never prostitute myself out like that.

Ah, I may possibly be misunderstanding exactly what RC can do I have the demo but it really doesn't show much. Apparently it's not very powerful. And Curtis, I see your point. Bloodeath, sorry dude but I'm out. But feel free to send me a demo or something sometime. If it turns out to be pretty interesting, I'd be glad to help ya out.

I have the demo. I know exactly how it works. It's snake oil. It's missing true RPG elements. Pretty much, every bit of gameplay has to come from NPC enemies, trading, and online players. There's nothing else really. If you're missing RPG elements in an online RPG, then you have a poor game. To compound that problem, the foundation of this project is lacklustre.

There is a huge difference between flaming and what I'm doing. This is what I'm doing...

Thanks Fallout

I've done nothing besides state the obvious truth, backed by my relevant experience. I think that I'm certainly not the person that the RC creators want critiquing their product. That's why I need to. It's a fantastic looking illusion.

Nobody is flaming, you don't need to ask for a thread to be locked at the slightest thing people are offering to help and giving nice comments others are just stating things about it.

What did you think would happen. You come to a forum where the majority of people program hard-code style, why would anyone that programs want to be associated with a program a 5 year old could use? Usually when Drag n' Drop teams are formed they're formed from a group of friends, with the majority knowing nothing about programming, not the other way around.
