Ok, recently, I have been offered an Academic version of Visual Studio 2005 (the full shebang) by a member of IT staff at my school - for a cut down price (because he can get it on behalf of the school)

However, I'm still worried about coughing up the (small) amount of cash for it, since I have no idea what the difference is. As far as I'm aware, its simply the way it is obtained; but still, I reckon there are likely to be limits on how the apps created with it can be distributed/or used; which may be a problem

Both the MS site and google have been completely useless. Is anyone able to shed some light on this?

The only real difference is what you can (or rather cant do with the executable) - your not supposed to sell anything created with the Academic version, although I dont think anyone will be able to detect what created the executable.

I dont know whether you get C#, and VB.Net with it either.

Come to the last Unofficial DBPro Convention (http://convention.logicstudios.net/)
Dont do anything I wouldn't do. But if you do, take pictures.
