Do you type very wildly and uncontrollably? Do you fail to reach for that shift to capitalize simple words such as names or I? Do you have issues reading what you typed over again? Is it hard for you to find the innumerable amount of errors in your own work, yet are able to find small errors in another’s work? It may be possible that you have DBSS (Denial of Bad Spelling Syndrome).

People with DBSS usually blame their spelling on simple things like “I type very fast” or “I drank too much caffeine” they even have been known to claim “the dog ate my keyboard”. These are all good excuses, but they are no match for the power of truth. The simple matter is that you can’t spell, and you will have to learn to live with that.

DBSS can be a very challenging syndrome and should not be taken lightly. It has been shown that people with DBSS are 90% more likely to fail their next spelling test or to get an F in creative writing. These people with DBSS are like normal human beings, doomed to error, the difference is that they fail to admit it. Studies have shown that High School dropouts are 70% likely to become a DBSS victim. This is a very real syndrome, the simple issue that these people can’t spell frustrates them to unimaginable levels, so they deny it causing a loss of inner harmony and eventually stupidity.

There, unfortunately, is no cure for DBSS. There has been testing with the contraction of ABSS (Admittance of Bad Spelling Syndrome) but that only seems to drive the subject further to insanity. It has been since decided that the best way to deal with DBSS is to constantly tell the person that they can’t spell. Eventually they will realize it and would be ever thankful for it.

So join our cause, the DBSS victims await your help.

This is great stuff Merranvo. Now write a guide about how to not be a know-all philosophical dork in every single thread.

But I'm with ye on this one. Might add-on to your guide someday.

Quote: "maths"

Is this a UK thing? I'm not sure, b/c math is both singular plural at the same time and cannot be pluralized by adding "s". Kind of like "people" or "fish" (which sometimes get pluralized to peoples and fishes too).

You can say mathematics, which is perfectly legal.

Fighting spirit: No, despite the fact that I may not think Merranvo is the coolest kid on the virtual block, he's completly right about you. Horrible spelling may not make one an idiot, but it sure makes then LOOK like an idiot, especially when you have access to a spell checker.

So stop whining and have a nice day.

SirFire: He got "Maths" correct. First time for everything I guess.

I read everything you type, often I am one of the few to read a good majority of a thread before posting in it.

He who spells with PERFECTION lacks abilities elsewhere. The quote means that an occasional small spelling mistake in a large post should be excused. For instance, in the post you used against me there were 247 words and 5 spelling mistakes (the others were clearly intentional). That is what I call forgivable; to have a post that is spelled perfectally is concentrating your resources on a single task.

Clicky

No, it is not directed at you, it is directed at those who have DBSS. I have read people who believe that leet is an acceptable version of English, or that the way something is spelled is correct (like the common brake vs break).

I do know that as I increase the complexity of the words I use I develop very bad spelling. I do not deny that. But admitting something is far better then going on as if there is no issue.

Well I guess that makes me a new specie as the IQ mechanism dictates that all people have an IQ. The only way you can NOT have an IQ is if

A) you are not born
in which the Mental Age over the Physical Age produces a mathematical anomaly.

B) There is no comparison for Mental Age to Physical Age ratio. In which I guess I would get an automatic IQ of 100.

Hmm... dilemma.

I guess the only way I could not have an IQ is if I wasn't born. But I am born... QED: Your statement is impossible.

But I like Quod Erat Demonstratuming the hell out of IQ insults. Like the "you have the IQ of a donkey". Well, a donkey would have an IQ of 100 on average, thus I am average.

uhh... fighting spirit...

MENTAL AGE
------------------- x 100 = Intelligence Quota
PHYSICAL AGE

an AVERAGE IQ would be if you are mentally as smart as you should be at that particular PHYSICAL AGE. If the 'average' is 112 then the test needs to take in the fact that kids now know more and FIX the test to make them 100's once again.

Fine, because you view me as an "below average person" try a professional site.

There's no need to have a winge about spelling and punctuation. We all make mistakes, but those of you who can't spell or use grammar at all will be laughed at by your boss and never get a promotion.

So it all works out fair in the end.

fighting spirit -

Your best bet is to just not fight with them, instead hit the toggle link in the upper right hand corner of there post. You'll never have to read a post by them ever again, it will keep you from getting noob slapped too.

Let them nit-pick and troll, its all they ever do.

Quote: "Acording to this test i have an above average iq
Though it was purley on patterns and stuff, ive scored higher on other iq tests before aswell.
and at Merranvo, i dont fully get what your saying, (as useuall), but there really isnt a set average iq, some sites say differant to others."

Fighting spirit I suggest you pick an IQ score and stick with it. According to your last post regarding your IQ you clearly stated you had an IQ of 135 (add the -77 to the 58) making you "gifted" not "above average" (will check again).

As for the definition of the Intelligence Quota PLEASE take Psychology I. I have and I comprehend the oh so hard concept that the intelligence quota is the Mental Age over the Physical Age. I Comprehend that that means if you are as smart as a 20 year old and you are ten years old then you have an IQ of 200. Unfortunately you insist on reading horrible sources for your information. May I remind you that an Online IQ testing is NOT accurate and is mainly just something people do for fun.

A real IQ test currently concentrates on multiple aspects of the mind, what most online IQ tests do is test your logical and mathematical skills. That is not a full IQ test… you know what, I really don’t want to try and find it. If I had my psych book I could pinpoint anything ten times faster then the Internet, not because I don’t know what I am talking about, but because I can’t remember the proper name for everything. Here, take a look at Gardner’s Multiple Intelligences

I stress that you read up on your psychology and not your rumor network. I am very dismayed by the ease you are swayed to believe what is most certainly untrue. You don’t read sites that aren’t deemed ‘true’ just to make a point, read more professional sites. Wiki can only go so far at times, they have to be double checked over and over due to the site being what I call a controlled rumor station. People post their beliefs on the matter there with a few citations that may or may not be accurate, sometimes even having conflicting data.

My point is simple, Wiki’s are okay for general information okay for even psychology, but just because some random website says something does not make it true, the order goes

College Course Website (course websites may include copies from book or lectures)
Scientific Study Website
Encyclopedia Online (like websters.com or Encarta.com)
Wiki
Stupid Website
Stupider Website
Random Online Test Website
Blog

Happy Searching.

man... how did I miss that. Quote your own apauling resource "your IQ score is 116 and the average score of all test takers is 100"
