There is a way to get them for free. Just make your game using the default characters, or leave the characters out for now. When everyone sees how great and excellent your design and game is going to be, someone will certainly want to have thier models in your most excellent game, as you said, just for the credits.

You have to bring something to the table when you want to make a deal.

Dist13 is right dude.

If I work on a character for a day, I don't just want a credit. I want some cash. And to be straight up honest, I don't think anyone who can't model is going to make a game that blows me away enough to do something free.

Your dream will soon end, just like every other kids game idea. I mean, all your doing is copying Postal 2 and gathering free media. Your talking about the game as if its going to be sold in shops with great looking box art.

That's pretty ambitious; what year are you planning on having this done, and are you going to print each manual yourself?

I don't know were people get it that they will come in here and have a best selling game like halo or half-life. If FpsC could make that good a quality it would be much more expensive man. Also sweet box art higgins it looks like a best seller aready i could see it in the store fronts now!

You grammer naz*s!

Anyways, why the hell Postal 2? Because, ever heard of Rockstar Games? They got a great pollemical with it's violence, because there are kids who do it like in the videogames.

Anyways, if you're gonna make something real big, then FPSC is NOT your friend. You should work hard (I mean HARD, H-A-R-D) on something like, programming languages, C++, and so.

Actually, I've also got the UnReal engine at home. But maybe you want to read the samll print - you know, the documentation you clicked "Okay" on without reading when you downloaded it. It's an educational tool only. The UnReal engine can't be used for commercial products unless you buy a single-use development license. That'll cost you:

Quote: "A non-refundable, non-recoupable license fee is due on execution of the agreement. The cost is US $350,000 for one of the available Unreal Engine 2 platforms, plus US $50,000 for each additional platform. A royalty of 3% is due on all revenue from the game, calculated on the wholesale price of the product minus (for console SKUs) console manufacturer fees. In the case of massive-multiplayer online games, the royalty is also due on the additional forms of revenue including subscriptions and advertisements."

I doubt that's within your budget, considering you're touting for free media. Myself, I currently suck at modelling. I contribute to this forum by purchasing other people's work, be it model packs or applications (magic fps, signs 3 etc). If you CAN afford the UnReal license, good on you - I think you could then probably stretch to purchasing the products of those who have the skills you lack.

Dude!!! Im working on the exact same thing!!! (I just need the sound effects and some casual ppl, dogs and cats...and who could forget GARY COLEMAN!!!)
Im going to try and animate and make my own characters with Character studio, so if i do make some, ill give them out for free, but im a noob, so its going to be hard..
An Unreal Engine?! Postal 2 has an awesome engine....way advanced...FPSC is completely out if there was a rating in between them, Unreal would win. But, FPSC is good enough for me. I dont want to make pro games, just a clone of Postal 2, as it is ilegal here...was...
KeyGen? Would that work with UNREAL? You will find everything for free...not here...but somewere...
