Newcomers DBPro Corner / extends xgui help

I need a sample code to open a dragable xgui to display prompts.
I tried to modify the xgui-chat system by removing the input gadget and keeping the dialog one, then tried calling it from my main loop but my application crashes on launch with a MS windows error.

Are there some other samples I could take a look at? all the samples I looked at don't seem to have a main do loop, so Im not sure how to integrate extends features into my own code.
