i\'ve had darkbasic for a year now and i have never used it. I have no idea about programing but would like to start a small 2d rpg and helpers.

Yeah.. good for you.

2D RPGs are not really the first thing you should start with. Check one of the green threads near the top of this page and it'll show you how to make a pong game. Go check it out, that should get you on your feet.
