Quote: "so do you know were i can get another texture for FN2000"

not for that model, textures arent made 'for' weapons, they are made for UV maps, which the modeller unwraps, so the only texture that is going to apply to that model is the orgiginal one.

i dont mean to sound rude, but i really dont have the time to help, and i am very busy with other projects and animating the weapons, im sure you can ask someone else for help, i am far too busy right now currently:

- Animating more than 10 weapons
- Modelling a set of RTS buildings, and texturing them
- Designing my website in photoshop and building it.
- Modelling a high res Audi (w.i.p)

i really dont have the time to UV map anything, or even texture something on its current UV map, the time is simply too consuming.

lol, thanks, i would like to, but im too hyped on developing my portfolio! after i get some stress released after all this work, and i have a stable portfolio, im going to go back to steadily programming my 3d engine and maybe take a shot at my first FPSC game!

you dont get textures (unless they come with the weapon) you have to make them using an image editor, the UV map (those blank wireframe images you sent me) is a guide to show where you are painting on a texture, so you know what to put where.

for instance, if you wanted to paint the texture yourself, you would export the UV map as a bitmap file, which can be loaded into your image editor, later to be painted on and applied to the model, if you have a UV editor (saying that, you probably have, as you stated you edited them earlier on) you should be able to see what needs to go where in a texture.

what modelling software are you using?

milkshape is a great program, and everything you have asked me to do, can be done in milkshape, i believe that it has a UV editor, and can obviously apply textures.

to apply a texture, go to the materials tab (side bar) then do the following:

hope that helps, its nothing hard.

Jon, I've said it before and I'll say it again:

I swear I'll buy your pack

Also, I know you are making multible arm varations, but will there be one without them too? Odd request I know, but for some games that's how I like it (call me wierd but that's what they did for timesplitters).

thanks

yes it will be EXTREMELLY simple to have no hands, instead of creating duplicate models, to save space, you can mask the hand texture with solid black, which will make it appear with no hand, so yes it is very possible

thanks

yep, ive said it, and far too many times, lol, the price is uncertain, but probably $25.00 im really having an annoying time trying to sort out a fair price when im giving so much hand-made animated content away, and most likely the first dedicated weapon, character, entity and segment pack to come out.

the release date is also uncertain, but all the weapons are finished (couldnt fulfill all requests, would be too expensive, but there are still a large amount of animated weapons in there) and only a few animations to go (look out for a animation showcase thread soon) then there is just the matter of completing some entities and finishing off some more characters

sorry i cant give a precise date, but the hard work is basically done, so not long!

Hey Jon,
Some great work ive seen so far, and i love the animation on the Famas.. two points about it though...
1) His finger goes through the top of the gun as he cocks it.
2) He removes and puts back the clip way tot fast, it just looks like he takes the same one out and in... you need to pop some time in so it looks like he takes a new one
Absoloutly avid about this pack.. Defo buying! OMFGZORS! ty for the doing the SA80... Just 3 more years and ill have one in Afghanistan
Add me on msn @ Dan@ride-with-pride.co.uk if ive added yours incorrectly please, would love to chat, if thats okay

Yours in Gaming,
Dan.

Jon, could you list all the weapons your going to have in Corepack Vol 2? I'm curious as I'm looking for an M16A2,Heckler & Koch G3, and Mp5 (I think you already have that one).

still working with the animations, im getting this really buggy result with exporting in matrix, where the mesh deforms, so im using position, scale and rotate, but the idle animations come out pretty annoying

i have also created a new segment to go with the pack, heres a screen

infact, all the weapon animations are complete, its just the melee weapons (some of which i havnt shown you guys yet)

but when i sort out the problem, it wont be too lnog before you will be able to see the "animation showcase"

Is this sniper bolt action it would be really cool if it was and even cooler if you made 2 animations for bolt and semi aut. i was also wondering if you were putting the hands on the guns automaticly because i am probaly going to buy this pack but i want custom hands on my guns.

thanks for the kind words, i would love it if i could get a freelance job, i have much to learn though, im hoping to get a bit better at character animation soon and learn more about heirarchy. Im making a portfolio character now, who knows when it will be complete, but very recently ive gotten much better at character modelling, most of my previous characters (including those in corepak volume 2 now look old and pretty awful to me) though most people like them and thats all that matters

lol, thanks, though as i said before, i have much to learn, currently my face painting skills arent the best

if you read my recent "getting back on track with my character modelling" thread, it gives some info one the pack, and why it has been slowed down recently.

but ive finished all the weapons, just having some heirarchy problems with some melee's and i need to create some (genuine) weapon sounds, grr

progress has been slow, i almost lost faith in it, but sooner or later i'll get back on track with it, hopefully not long

ok, I'll read that thread.

For the sounds, you don't need to create them your-self, you can use pages like http://www.findsounds.com/ to find the ones that you need -just watch the type of license for each sound you may use/distribute.
