how would one go about making a video in the beginning of the game? and what format should one use?

AVI. Save/Export the video as an AVI file then save it in your FPSC video bank. In FPSC put the yellow marer box and find your AVI clip then when the game starts the AVI clip will play. To capture video use FRAPs.
